Hi Graham

An interesting list of what's still lurking at SULTAN. There are 5 Sea Kings there (including 3 of the older ones)that I would still like to see. Did you get a feel on whether any SK's might get transferred to our local at Lyneham when DCTT finally absorbs the naval element? I somehow expect not given the imminent demise of the SK so I guess the MOD accountants will want to consign them to scrap asap! Then again there aren't too many Merlin airframes knocking around for apprentices to train on so maybe there is hope!

What I find odd about Lyneham's future plan is that there will be a REME museum (from Arborfield)open to the public (by the main gate and within the public access to the garden of remembrance)but the DCTT will be a tri-service set up. Maybe its because everyone else already has dedicated museums at the likes of Yeovilton, Bovington, Cosford etc. I dunno!

Hi All
HMS Sultan has got an open days on Sat 12 & Sun 13 Sept. It is a guided tour that last about an hour of a couple of the hangers and what is outside, I went a couple of years ago at was very good. If intrested you have to book in advance via the Gosport Tourist Info Centre.
