Hi Guys,
Was just sent this link about the story of the first 'Air Force One' Super Connie, Columbine Two...
Hope this works, and it sounds like another good reason to get out to Tucson soon...
Cheers.

Cheers. Bill Bill Assume this is still at Avra Valley. We saw it there in October 2004 marked as N9463 (c/n 2602.) Columbine I, c/n 2606 48-0614 was at Pima Museum where it entered my logs on 18.SEP.01 (We were touring the States, flying with United, during 9/11!) My Connie flying experiences: F-BGNE L.A.P - Paris Orly in 1962, and N494TW from/to Jersey in 1998. Bob PS. If you want the full set, Columbine III still exists too. Ohio, if I remember . . .

Hi Bob,
I've never seen this example (Columbine 2). I was last in Arizona (spotting) in 1989, managed to do a few fields but I did spend a whole day at Davis Montham AFB & the magnificent Pima Air Museum - sadly no photographic images to project....
But on that trip I logged the following Constellations.
54-0167 VC-121C USAF (since scrapped) 54-4064 C-121 USAF (Scrapyard) N90831 L-049 TWA (Pima) 48-0614 L-749/C-121 USAF (Pima) 53-548 L-1049/EC-121D USAF (Pima) 53-0554 L-1049/EC-121T USAF (Pima)
The only Connie that I have flown on was N73544 (Now HB-RSC) when we did an hour around the Swiss Alps from Geneva in 2005... Which was a fantastic experience with much noise and considerable heat, no AC working and when everyone got off they had lost at least 1lb due to the temperature... But a great experience nevertheless.
Cheers.
