As the header suggests, this coming Sunday will see the last of the season's fly in's,in previous years if the weather has been kind a good turn out of aircraft usually happens.I've had a look at the BBC weather forecast and at the moment it looks promising so maybe I'll see some of you there.

Popham was indeed a very busy place today and, yes, that was a great flypast by the Vulcan. I hope my photo of it is at least reasonable.

Hi Guys What a great way to spend a Sunday morning. Bit nippy but with approximately 40 visitors (think that was the number offered by Dave), XH558 Vulcan giving us a SUPERB final fly-past and great company... What else could one ask for?!?! Perhaps another Vulcan fly-past next weekend!!! Anyway, whilst everyone else were snapping away I thought I'd use the video on my i-phone... If this link doesn't work I will try again, but I hope you enjoy this as much as I did... Turn the volume up and just wait for the 'power-up'.... It was beautiful.... HTTPS://Youtu.be/PKSRLBqjGxMCheers fellas. Bill

My earliest recollection of the Vulcan was during the mid '60s when during breaks at school when we were out in the playground, a Vulcan or Victor used to fly over Central London every 7 minutes (from memory) so that they (V Force) could monitor the Capital city in case of nuclear attack... The Vulcan was always very distinquishable because of the delta shape.
But when I think back, how exposed were we all at this threat... But life just went on, like every other day....
But I also wonder how many Vulcan and Victor's I'd seen, all completely unidentifiable from the ground!!!
Sweet memories....
Bill

Hi Guys, While I'm completely in the Vulcan mood, along with Jeff, Frank and Viv we were privileged to spend some time at Farnborough 2014... On one of the days we got to see XH558 perform a magnificent display and I was able to video it on take off... The most stunning part of the take off is the sound (so turn the volume right up) and then the sheer majesty of the beast as she claws her way into the sky.... Hope you enjoy this one.... As others have said, a great day, if rather sad that we won't see the likes of such an iconic aircraft again. Judging by the number of peple present, it will be a day to remember!

Were you at Popham Mike? It would have been good to meet you. We were all congregated at the wooden tables adjacent to the gate into the visitors' parking area

Great day at Popham, and to meet other members on the Forum. Sad day to see the Vulcan on one of its final flights, brought back so many memories of days gone bye.
