If they did it at Griffin Park we would almost have a hostie each! The first game I ever went to was the Bees vs the Brazilian champions Batafogo who were due to have played at Highbury but Arsenal pulled out. The great Garrincha was on the wing. Fabulous stuff and sad that so great a talent died penniless in the slums. Could walk to Griffin Park from home in Chiswick and hardly missed a home game from the late fifties till I moved away in 1972. Don't get to see them very often these days but they are still the team whose results I look for first. I captained our school team at Strand on the Green and one of the team went on to briefly play for the Bees. Other than the Batafogo game, the most memorable was probably the night we beat Wrexham 9-0. Never before had so few made so much noise.

New ground pencilled in for next year I think, gone will be the only ground in the country with a pub on each corner. Brentford are my team, I have Brentford (Chiswick and Brentford) on my birth cert, couldnt really support anyone else could I. I Used to go to every match until kids and shiftwork came along but do venture back occasionally.
Bill they did that at Craven Cottage, both supporters were impressed :-) lol
