hi Jeff, but what gems awaited you, and to be honest you never knew what might be landing next...you've put me in nostalgia mood now.
regards, dave...

Very thought provoking photos Jeff. Yes, I always regarded LGW as the place where "something special" might just turn up but like you, from Reading it was a heck of a trip via train. Looking at the second shot, I'm sure you could walk around to that scrub land to the bottom left. Love the BUA VC-10 at the rear of shot #5

Those were the days Jeff, when you could see GA Business, military and numerious different airlines both jet and prop. Remember going to LGW in 1958 first thing being logged was G-AHLH Lockheed 12A, Dakota's Viscount's etc. At least you could take pictures of GA and Bus. on the ground were North Terminal now stands. I used go in with a friend of mine to collect his Company Aztec when Goodwood was misty in the evenings in the 70's always an enjoyable flight.

The one thing that sticks in my mind is the announcements, and it was always the same airlines..." Aviogenex regret to announce that flight **** to ? is delayed, this due to the late arrival of incoming aircraft" or InexAdria regret to announce that flight **** to ? is delayed, this due to the late arrival of incoming aircraft".. so we to would bugger off for the Greenline 727 back to the Row..Great days indeed.
