Hello all
I have the details from MW for next Tuesday.
"Good morning Phil, We are looking forward to welcoming the Aviationforall Aviation Society to AACen on Tuesday 21 June 2016. Please arrive at 0845hrs at Access Control where you will be met and directed to the appropriate car park. I have attached a location map for information. The nominal roll you have given us is as follows..... and please can you kindly confirm that they are all UK passport holders: Aviationforall Aviation Society Morning visit 0900hrs – 1100hrs
Please can you kindly let me know if you will be visiting the Museum of Army Aviation after your visit here? "
I just need to work out how to attach the map. Please let me know if you're not a British passport holder.
I will collect everyone's donations on arrival, then write a cheque for the museum. Is anyone planning on visiting the museum that day?
Thanks, see you all then.
Map to follow!

Thanks guys- I don't think we need passport as ID, I think they are just checking we are all British! But I have asked them to clarify. Also, on checking, it appears they did not attach the map, so I have requested that as well!
Cheers

According to the website the museum has 35 aircraft on display. Entrance is £12 per adult or £9 per senior citizen. For pre-booked groups of 10+ you can knock a whole pound off those prices!

I visited the museum about 9 months ago ZZ so I won't be going again on the 21st. Well worth the entrance fee though for any of us who haven't been there.

Hi Phil,
Myself, Malcolm James, Vivien Barton, Kevin Jarvis and John Rennie are all UK passport holders.
I'll ask all of them to bring their passports, just in case.
None of us will be going to the museum, having done it a few months ago.
Really looking forward to it...
Cheers.
Bill

I'm a UK passport holder though I'd rather visit the local pub for a swift half or 2 after the tour if anyone's interested?

Thanks guys. As suspected, no passports or ID are required on the day. The only rule is that non-British nationals are not allowed in Hangar 5 (Apache hangar!) Phil, I don't believe we need hi-vis (I did ask) but I won't discourage anyone from bringing it just in case. I haven't needed it in previous visits though. Hi all
Slight change from previous instruction - please read e-mail I received today...
"Phil, Good morning and I hope you are well. Please can you kindly ensure that all of your members bring photographic ID with them on the day as they will need this for access to Hangar 5, no photographic ID no access. You do not need to bring high viz jackets. Please accept my apologies for all the confusion and extra work this has caused you. Hopefully you will all have a great visit. Kind regards Pen"

Hi Bill,
I`ve not been round museum for about 14yrs and would like to go round.Looked on Museum website and states you can use the cafe without going round the museum so could get something to eat while i`ll shoot round ? Will have passport and Hi-viz just in case.
Thanks Kevin Jarvis

Hi Kev
Yes, access to the café is around the side of the museum hangar, quite a good spot actually for photos as the outside café terrace sits quite a bit higher than the fencing

I believe their will be 2 tours at the 9am time as a colleague of mine is on another one, just to note on arrival.
Also it will be Mid-Summer at Stonehenge (A303) on 21st so their may be extra traffic near there for the Druids, witches etc, although I think they get their for sunrise (0415)

Hi Michael
I drove past Stonehenge this morning and I would imagine from the numbers there that most of the revellers have arrived. There's a strong Police presence there too, so although as you say, they celebrate the sunrise, I doubt that many will move out that quickly after seeing sunrise as many will be quite possibly be feeling the effects of a few shandies or spliffs...;0) Those that do leave will in all likelihood head west for Glastonbury
