The weather forecast for today was for rain, however that didn't happen but it was very cloudy and quite breezy so we thought we would try and visit the airfield @ Stellanbosch but after picking up the hire car it was a drive around the southern perimeter at Cape Town to see what could be seen, logged were the following:

ZS-LYL Convair 580
ZS-ANZ Challenger 601
ZS-RVL PC12

We then drove to Stellanbosch which was about a 30 minute journey,it's a lovely airfield set in the heart of the wine growing region of Cape Town,I had previously sent an email to the Stellanbosch Flying Club who stated that we were very welcome to use their facilities but if we wanted to go airside we have have to contact the airport manager which I did but I never got a reply. When we arrived the lady at the Flying Club remembered my name and contacted the airport manager who came to meet us,he even showed me his reply email which for one reason or another I never got.Never mind,he said that two hangars were currently open and he would drive us to them, there were two aircraft in the first hangar,4 in the second and four aircraft on the field so 10 were logged. The airport manager (Geoff) stated that there are approx 150 aircraft based at this airfield but a lot of them are in individual lock ups so he suggested that if we are in the area again, please visit on a sunny day or at the weekend when a lot of flying takes place, anyway on with the log:
