News from Malaysian Mueller confirmed the carrier tried to market the fleet in 2015, but did not find any buyers so elected to retain the aircraft until the A350s arrive. At the moment the plan is to try to remarket the fleet again "in about a year." As of now the A380s will continue to flown on the LHR route with a single frame nearly dedicated full time on charters for pilgrimage flights to Jeddah. Plan is also that effective April 2017, essentially one frame will be out of service continually as they will undergo required heavy maintenance until withdrawal in 2018.
