Further to Jargon's post last week re. The Blue Angels training crash, there have been another 3 display team accidents in the week. On the same day (June 2) as the Blue Angel crash, the Thunderbirds also lost an aircraft. Fortunately this time the pilot survived.
One week later, June 9, a Russian Knights Su-27 crashed in Russia, killing the pilot. Also yesterday, at Leeuwarden, two Patrouille Suisse F.5s collided. One aircraft crashed, one managed to land, both pilots survived.
Strangely, the two U.S. and the Russian aircraft were all team number "6".
