I have just got back to my brother in laws home in Wisconsin from a day at EAA. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!! They reckon there are 12,000 aircraft here. Apparently it's full 😳 That's without the hundreds parked at both Fond du lac and Appleton which are over flow airports😮
I will do a report when I get back but some of the highlights so far are getting full airside access at both Wittman (Oshkosh) and fond du lac airfields. Visiting the sea plane base and watching the enormous Martin Mars flying boat Watching a fly past of 32 US ww2 mustangs Etc. Have basically given up logging apart from twins and biz
I have never seen so many aircraft in one place. The organisation is second to none. Stunning!
I got chatting to a German pilot who stopped off at fond du lac on the way to South America in his German registered SR22 from an airfield near Frankfurt. Incredible!
I am absolutely whacked, the temperatures are taking there toll. Going back tomorrow.
It will probably take me months to sort out my logs. There is everything here from a jet blue airliner, to a galaxy, to a B17, to a tiny home build.
Will report back when I return home.
regards Mick

Look forward to the report's Mick- remember ZZ's excellent reports from the same location two years ago. It is on my bucket list- but 12,000 aircraft at one go would see me off I think. Although it would be a good way to go!!!! Happy days Bob
