This is the first part of my first trip to the EAA at Oshkosh. Something I always wanted to do.
I hoped to visit Fond Du Lac and Appleton to during my stay. More of that later
(I only logged as required)
On Friday 22nd July I arrived at Heathrow and took PH-BXD 737 to Amsterdam
Made the following at AMS
B-2096 777 Air China cargo
B-6139 A380 China Southern
EC-MIO A330 WOW Air
TC-IZI 737 Pegasus
TC-JSB A321 Turkish
TC-TJT 737 Corendon
TF-ISN 767 Icelandair
UR-PSB 737 Ukraine International
YR-BMC 737 Blue Air
Can anyone confirm that TC-OCB A330 of Onur Air was in
I also think I logged VP-BON 737 of Aeroflot
Both possible mispoles though??
I spent a couple of hours or so here before hopping on N394DL 767 324er of Delta for a packed ride to Newark
So then upon arrival at Newark I managed to log the following. Although I had mini bins I didn't want to draw attention to myself passing through immigration so a few went missing.
Later on at my hotel for the night I tied up a few more as required
CS-TOM A330 TAP
N368PH DHC-8 United Express
N369PH DHC-8 United Express
N428AS 737 Alaska Airlines
N725YX Erj 175 United Express

N38451 737 United
N68817 737 United
N76517 737 United
N76514 737 United
C-GLDV dash 8 Porter
Stayed at Hampton by Hilton at the airport where although no view of runways, arriving aircraft could be seen and tied up by plane finder as they where landing in front of window.
At a god earthly hour the following morning 23rd July I caught the hotel shuttle bus back to Newark for my flight to Chicago O Hare
The following were on interest to me at Newark
C-FLWH ERJ 190 Air Canada
N14568 Erj 145 United Express
N24212 737 United Airlines
N38454 737 United Airlines
N61886 737 United Airlines
XA-VOJ A319 Volaris
I caught a full N38451 737NG of United Airlines for my hop to O Hare
Around two hours later I arrived and logged around 43 in a quick turnaround and a very busy airport, before finding my gate for my flight to Milwaukee.
Among the Delta AA and United machines where C-FEIX Erj175 of Air Canada Express and HP-1539CMP 737NG
I then boarded N938SW Skywest Crj200 for a fifteen minute flight along the shores of Lake Michigan to a very quiet General Mitchell Airport at Milwaukee
The following where logged here before being collected by my sister in law and taken to their house for the next 10 days
N14905 Erj145 United Express
N409AW Crj 200LR American Eagle
N449AW Crj 200LR American Eagle
N7752B 737NG Southwest
I was housed just to the west of Milwaukee and there were loads of overflights logged during my time there. Nothing exciting, just the usual American Airlines, United, Delta Southwest etc. So I wont mention them
There were also loads of props/lights heading north to Oshkosh an hour and a bit away.
I had a relaxing weekend doing a bit of sailing, eating and drinking before collecting my hire car at midday on Monday 25th July for a full on week of spotting.
Having collected my car I thought I would venture North along the I-41 to Fond Du Lac County Airport (About an hour away) Easily seen on the left from the highway.
Here I was confronted by of mainly twins and biz parked up outside on the main apron and in the adjoining sections of the airfields where a couple of hundred of light aircraft where parked up.
It transpired that Oshkosh was full and this was the main overflow.
There were shuttles by bus to and from the EAA for the pilots that landed here 25$ return I think.
I asked for permission to enter the apron and hangers and this was unconditionally granted
I also caught the free shuttle bus to the other side of the airfield. Again I was free to wonder about taking photos and logging avoiding the taxying traffic.
The most surprising and interesting aircraft was D-EKLF SR22
I spoke to the German pilot who told me he has flown with a few stops from an airfield near Frankfurt and was on his way to South America and back!
I made the following among 242 logged which consisted of mainly N registered, but a few Canadian as well..
C-FKWX Ce336
C-GPTX Pa34
N246MK Ce421
N442CC Ce414
N464JB Pa46
