I expect to be going on Saturday, so I thought I would get some idea of what to expect. If you go to www.sywellaerodrome.co.uk, press on the LAA icon, scroll down to "are you flying in?", then go to "book a slot", select a date and press "book", you get a list of all aircraft which have booked an arrival slot on that day Of the 412 logged in for Friday, 107 also have a slot for Saturday, so it is reasonable to assume they will not be staying overnight. Of the remaining 305 I need 156, and even if only 50% stay until Saturday that will be a reasonable haul! 296 have slots for Saturday from 08.00-13.00, and of these I need 131. Adding those in the display area, hangars etc I should make somewhere in the region of 250. There will inevitably be some no-shows depending on weather, but well worth a visit (plus Luton on the way home!)

Jeff, Nothing in this months mag re tours of the static- you pay your entrance fee and then a further 10 pounds to go airside- then it's shank's pony I'm afraid, but worth every penny. They do the tours at Aero Expo. Have the Sywell website saved on my computer- but will get nothing like you projected total Jerry- a couple of nice gap fillers needed on the Friday list- hopefully they will stay in. Also checking the Saturday list 14:45 looks the time or even a bit earlier as nothing needed for the last half hour- but more than likely do the static area then. Fingers crossed for good weather for a change. Happy Days Bob

hi, must say i'm really looking forward to this one, for me its this yrs last show now the RAF has stopped its BoB open days in the UK. Just hoping the weather gods play ball, although there's a weather warning for Sywell from thursday pm till Sunday am for heavy rain showers, but we can't do anything about it in fact at Aero Expo when it rained I enjoyed the time going round the exhibition tents. One thing I have learnt over yrs of British airshows always carry a couple of pencils as pens run on wet paper... Hope to see some other forumites, any plans for a meet?
regards, dave...

Just Saturday for me this year. Haven't had chance to do the annual "needed checklist" yet, but last year was good- 80ish for the day. The year before was about half that. So anything over 50 I'm happy with!
Hoping to go looking for a few Lynx that I need on the way- FAST museum and Upminster if they are still there. That would hopefully get me 3 of my last 12 Lynx...

Likewise zz, the couple on Friday were ones that I knew I needed from the Sywell list before the G-B's started. Over 50 will be a Brucey bonus for me as well- not a hundred per cent sure where I will be going pre Sywell like Jerry more than likely go to Luton then the usual on the way home of Husbands Bosworth, EMA and a quick look at Tatenhill to see if that Do27 I need is present. But things can change!!!!! Always have a plan "B" We will have to have the fashion show updates of what we will be wearing pre LAA. Happy Days Bob

That'll be appreciated thanks Jeff. But if you can't, no problem. It's only a quick swerve off the M3
Thanks

Just had a drive round the back of FAST, the Lynx is still there but now turned round the other way from the photo, it now also has a green tarpaulin over the top but you can still see the airframe. Easily visible from the perimeter road near the orange airshow markers and parked near the hapag lloyd containers

Have checked the Saturday booking in list. Need 53 G- that are due in. Obviously not all of those turn up, but add a few based and a few left over from Friday, plus any new foreign and it should be a good day... Weather dependant...

Looks like the BBC has changed its mind again about the weather. Rain & increasing wind on Saturday PM and possible downpours overnight. Possibly the tail end of the hurricane that was forecast last week.

Looks like light rain from about 12 onwards and from about 16:00 onwards (Will be on my way home at about 14:30) a bit of heavy rain wind 11 mph which is normal up here-but nice Sunday- in any case rain jacket (Everton one)to be packed away in haversack just in case. Will just have to get around the lines a bit quickly Saturday morning. The Hurricane predicted by the doom merchants last week will be approaching the Canaries Saturday evening so should not bother us until next week. In any case it will just be a tropical depression. In any case as it is my last trip for 2016 I will be there Saturday come rain, come shine. The BBC have been known to get things wrong before!!!! Happy days Bob

Dave, And if it's "Spitting" I will have my EFC rain jacket on so that will be a give away- think I will be getting there about 09:30 when the gates open then straight around the aircraft parking area before I head for the hangars (If open) and the static. Happy Days Bob

Visitors numbers have been down today. Although warm we have had dull and drizzly spells throughout the day. Only a handful of European visitors. Weather not the best tomorrow but will be there. Les
