I'd always wanted to visit here so the wife and I decided to go on Saturday. At first glance the £38 entry seems steep but this includes all the exhibits, including HMS Warrior, Victory, the Mary Rose and loads more, plus a ride across the water to the submarine which we didn't have time for. Once bought, the ticket is valid for a year, so you can come back as often as you like. hi morning, very nice Graham, when I visited Victory 4/5yrs ago, the gun decks etc. it made me really think what our "tars" went thru and about how we ruled the seas. Fascinating how sayings originated then aswell, no room to swing a cat, show a leg, know the ropes, and three sheets to the wind, hmm... didn't know about he combined ticket worth remembering.
regards, dave...

Thanks Dave. Warrior was huge, 418ft long, 9400 tons, all the cannons were enclosed within a "box" composed of 4.5" steel plate backed by 6" of teak. They essentially built the entire ship around that box.

Brill photos Graham, live in Portsmouth and still havn't done the Mary Rose. But as a kid do remember going down to the seafront after school and watch it being lifted out of the water.

Thanks Chris, I'd always wanted to see Victory and she didn't disappoint. The weather was sublime too, which made a great day out even better.
