For those with an interest in the older generation of locos a class 31 is out today towing an old class 442 (plastic pig) from Eastleigh works to Ely. 31452 should be the loco to tow 442403 on 5L46, 1030 from the works via Basingstoke (1112) Woking (1135) Chertsey (1150) for storage at Ely Cheers Martin

Thanks Martin, they were the Brush Type 2's I believe. Of course, you never saw them down around Reading so I did take a trip to Sheffield on the train via London and saw loads of them. I found this which is quite amusing as well as informative, gives all the "nicknames" for various types of locos, DMU's and EMU's. There was a class of diesel loco we always called "Slugs" but I don't recall what they were. gizmosworld.me.uk/mybook/my_works/nicknames.html
