The Heritage Hangar Biggin Hill’s have chosen Tuesday 18th August. The plan is to create the biggest fighter formation since World War 2. It is to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

They're hoping for more than 20 a/c including 4 Hurricanes. The mass formation would separate into 3 groups, to fly different routes over SE England.
There doesn't appear to be any plan for any public viewing at Biggin yet. That would be a real shame for what is potentially such a great event.
August 18th has been chosen as it's the 75th anniversary of The Hardest Day.

Seem to be going down to the Isle of Wight, over the Solent and Portsmouth before returning back to Biggin Then east over Dover, Hawkinge and the national memorial at Capel-le-Ferne.
Then over West Malling, Detling and Gravesend before returning to patrol over Biggin in an act of protecting the airfield while the first two flights return from the Isle of Wight and Dover and land. Once they’re down, the patrolling aircraft will come in to Land

Afternoon Chaps, If anyone is REALLY interested in this event and wants to get up close and personal you can now get tickets for this event from the following website; www.synergyeventsuk.com/I booked mine this morning but they ain't cheap - £40 a pop but frankly to be up close to 20 Spitfires and 6 Hurricane's, watch them go off - then get an opportunity to see them all on the flight line on their return, won't happen again anytime soon. If you go, let me know, it would be great to meet up for a cuppa... Cheers lads. Bill
