Hi all,
I'm now in a position to start posting logs for this trip but it will take some time.I went with my very good friend and ex work mate Geoff Pierce and when we go to the States we like to do something different when we travel, therefore this year we took the Air Canada A319 flight from Heathrow to St Johns where we had about two hours to spend before taking the same aircraft (and crew) down to Toronto where we had a few hours to spare before taking an Air Canada Rouge A319 flight down to Tampa,Florida where we would spend our first night in the states.
On Monday 2nd Feb I picked Geoff up from home and we made our way to Heathrow and the new Terminal 2 (very nice place) and we settled down to watch the arrivals on 27L before boarding our flight to St Johns (A319 C-GITP).
I wrote down six at Heathrow:
A6-APA A380 Etihad
5Y-KZD B787 Kenya
LN-RGB B737 Scandinavian
SE-RJS B737 Scandinavian
B-KPQ B777 Cathay Pacific
B-KPH B777 Cathay Pacific
Our flight to St Johns was delayed by approx 30 mins as the crew had to sort out a diversion airport as our first airport at Halifax,Nova Scotia was closed at that time.Once airborne we crossed the Atlantic in about 5 1/2 hours and landed at a sunny but breezy St Johns and no snow.
St Johns is not a busy airport but 8 went into the book:
C-FKAJ B757F Cargojet
C-FBXY Sikorsky S.92 CHC Helicopters
C-FPUB Beech 1900D Exploits Valley Air Service (full Air Canada Express scheme)
C-GNKF B727F Purolator
C-GFJZ CRJ900 Air Canada Express
C-GPGR Beech King Air 200 Canadian Dept of Transport
N17138 Embraer 145 Expressjet (United)
C-GKKN Sikorsky S.92 Cougar Helicopters
Again our departure was delayed due to snow clearance taking place at Toronto but we got in alright and there was still about 2 hours daylight left, quite a bit went into the log including Air Canada,Air Canada Express,Air Canada Rouge,Air Transat,Canjet,Sunwing and Westjet. We managed to ID a couple of the ex Colgan Dash 8 400's,N351NG and N354NG along with C-FKPX Pilatus PC12,two Morningstar Air Express Cessna 208 Caravans C-FEXB and FEXH (full Federal Express colours) and one biz Netjets Falcon 2000 N233QS.None C- aircraft seen were:

Our flight to Tampa on Air Canada Rouge A319 C-GBIJ was delayed by about 30 mins mainly due to the weather in Toronto but we arrived in Tampa at 10.30pm with the temp still about 65 and parked in between a Frontier A320 N216FR and a United B737 N38458.By this time we were well and totally knackered so retired to our hotel for the night close to the airport ready to be up the following morning for a visit to Tampa and many of the airports on the western coast of Florida.
