For those of you with an interest in the BAC One-Eleven a forum / group is now up and running on Facebook. It is called "BAC 1-11 - Past & Present". I am hoping that as many of you as possible will start posting historic images as well as sharing some great stories about this historic British Airliner which is now nearly 52 years old. The forum was previously known as "Save BAC 1-11 Group" but the new name hopefully reflects the main aim of the group.

For lovers of the 1-11
www.bac1-11jet.co.uk/bac1-11jet.co.uk%20Contents.htm
I remember my dad telling me that one day they had potential one eleven customer visiting the factory (Weybridge) and that one of them had seemed familiar to people, and that it turned out that the person had been a carpenter in the factory (in VC10 days)who had left, gone to the USA and somehow climbed to the high in an Airline business. No idea who he was, which Airline or whether they bought any, but that was some jump in career.
Regards
John

Thanks pilotpete and good to hear from you. I have vague memories as a youngster travelling on both BUA and Court Line 1-11's on family holidays. A friend of mine works at Boscombe Down, he's ex RAF but now a civvy contractor doing pretty much what he did for the RAF. He tells me that the 1-11 is a fabulous plane, very well built and they use the one (ones?) at BD for engine testing.

Thanks to all those that have joined this BAC 1-11 Facebook group. It is certain to become an invaluable resource to this much loved British built airliner. Please take a look if you haven't already seen it.

All I can suggest is that you give it a try! Sign up to get a Facebook account, as it really doesn't bite, and then type "BAC 1-11 - Past & Present" in the search box, click on join this group and wait for admin approval as its a "closed / private" group so no spam. It really is that simple. It's as interactive as you want it to be. Sadly I can't re-create it outside Facebook You can set up your own security controls very easily indeed. believe me!
