Me again, today's offerings cover Friday 6th Feb and as it's a Friday then it's a visit to West Palm Beach which as everyone knows that have visited this airport that Friday does tend to be wall to wall biz and people from northern USA and Canada come down for a long weekend to escape the snow etc.
Following yesterday's poor weather in the morning we decided to pop into Fort Lauderdale Executive first and as it was now glorious sunshine a lot of the hangars were open which enabled us to put a few more into the log book,a further 43 biz were noted including the following 6 non N reg biz:
C-GHYD Westwind
D-CHGN 125-900XP
XA-ASH 125-800A
XA-PBT 125-800XP
YV2877 Citation 550
YV2932 Citation 550-II
Next stop was Pompano Beach, this used to be GA only but in recent years they have started biz jet operations,on this occasion just 4 were noted:
N1900A Astra
N1993 Falcon 10
N37TA Lear Jet 35
N921EW Falcon 50
One other interesting aircraft for me which I potted was Robinson R44 G-ROZI which was cancelled to the USA last year but does not yet carry it's new USA reg assuming
that it has one.
Next stop was Boca Raton, here they are very anti spotters partly due I suppose that it has a big casino on the airport grounds so they don't like people taking photos etc,the best way to combat this is to go through the grounds of the Florida Atlantic University and park alongside the fence in their carpark which is adjacent to their sports stadium, here you overlook the runway and many of the FBO's,also we went to the top of their new MSCP which added about 6 more biz to the log,45 biz went into the log but only two non N reg:
YV1828 Lear Jet 35
YV2904 Lear Jet 55
There was a third YV registered aircraft present but they were packed in so tightly we couldn't get a decent view of it.
Last stop of the day was West Palm Beach and a log from midday to 18.30 produced 192 biz of which the following non N reg were seen:
C-FCPR Citation 680 Sovereign
C-FHPM Gulfstream 4
C-FWTF Falcon 2000
C-GDPG Global Express 5000
C-GFCP Gulfstream 450
C-GMJJ Premier 1A
C-GOIL Falcon 900
C-GSLC Citation 560XLS
C-GWFM Falcon 50EX
C-GWPB Gulfstream G.200
G-SIRO Falcon 900EX (made this one)
LV-CEG Gulfstream 3
OK-KKF Gulfstream 550
VP-BOK Global Express 6000
XA-DRE Gulfstream G.200
Airliner traffic is steady but the only non US airliners I have seen at West Palm Beach are Air Canada and I did pot one of my few remaining A320's C-FFWJ,cargo operations are small and in cargo were two aircraft N158UP A330F UPS and N443FE A310F FedEx,also seen was the Volga Denpr AN124 that we saw in Toronto RA-82044 which two helicopters were loaded into.
Part 6 to follow.
