After finally breaking my April duck at Mildenhall and Lakenheath last Fri/Sat with a haul of 15, I finally got my first Bournemouth pot this month today in the form of:
7T-VNM C560XLS+ 😆
which has called in on its delivery flight for an overnight stop Cheers Mark

That's a phenomenal total of Boeing frames Jerry. I couldn't resist having a look at my own totals. I spotted from 1967 aged 11 until I was 22 in 1978, then attended a lot of mainly military shows in 80s and 90s but didn't actually continue with day-to-day spotting, until I started again just over four years ago.
707 - 687 (including KC-135s) 717 - 36 720 - 64 727 - 525 737 - 2615 747 - 1002 757 - 464 767 - 577 777 - 873 787 - 277
Total - 7120

Graham,
I am just a year older than you, and had a shorter gap in spotting, so my Boeing totals are:
707/135 272 717 46 720 47 727 538 737 1191 747 1060 757 452 767 601 777 1091 787 280
Total 7581
Similar total, but very different split!

I am a few years older than either of you (68 next month) and have been spotting on and off since 1965, gap from 1984 to around 1998. Did not include C-135 in my totals, lost my military records in 1984 and had to start again so only have 79. My totals are made up of
707/135. 663 717 18 720 74 727 756 737 3464 747 1343 757 564 767 739 777 1163 787 301
Total 9085

Thanks Phil, interesting stats there for sure. I did a few airport visits each year during my "off" years and also made a couple of trips to the States in 2006 and 2007 which really boosted up the totals. My first day at O'Hare in May 2006 yielded 891 new frames, not all Boeings of course.

I remember not so long ago on here Jerry you posted that you'd just made your 1000th 777 so you've moved on a bit since then.

Yes, lots of new LHR visitors, including 13 China Eastern since the start of the summer timetable. Have not been Stateside since 2001, and a 2-day visit to Dubai last year is my only foray outside Europe for 10 years, so totals could be much higher!

Have not made any dedicated spotting trips to the US, but did persuade my wife to do a detour to Victorville some years ago and logged 192. Another good location, with only 2 dedicated spotting days across 6 family trips, has been Sydney, with 503 logged there.

One week gone up here at Mildenhall/Lakenheath and 36 have hit the spreadsheets. I'm certainly not grumbling at that. If only I can keep up this rate.

We visited last Thursday and I looked around (clearly not far enough) but couldn't see you... Never mind will catch-up soon... We only saw 4 Osprey's out on the ramp, but only potted 2 of them. Did make a few 135's and a couple of Herc's (one out of Lakenheath).... Sadly I didn't need the KC-10 on the ramp!!! Anyway, must get my butt up there a bit more frequently.... Thanks for all the Military updates Bob... Really appreciate them. Bill

Hi Bill,
Trust you to pick the rainy day!! We were in our caravan in John's Field (on the rank by Pollards Lane)....dry and warm. Shame we missed each other, it would have been good to meet up and have a chat.
We are up here until Sunday 14th May.......unless something "tasty" persuades us to stay.
Cheers,
Bob

I gave up civvy spotting when the 757/767s were just coming in. Even then, it was only airliners and bizjets.
I've seen 568 C-135/C-137s and when you add in the 707s of Pan Am, TWA, Lufthansa, BOAC, Cunard/British Eagle, Flying Tiger, Air France, South African, El Al, Aer Lingus, Continental and all the rest coming into the UK between 1962 and 1984, I wonder what that lot (frames only) would add up to, bearing in mind that I cleared them all except Continental?
