The idea was that there were 3 waves of 6 x F-15Es to arrive in Lakenheath on their way home from downrange.
One today, one Friday and one Saturday. Rest two days and then go back home to CONUS.
Today's offering has changed its mind and filed (midair) to go to Spangdahlem.

Today's are going into Lakenheath.
The Spangdahlem filing must have been in case of diversion.

Friday 7th April 2017
Well, I think that someone was jumping the gun for their departure.
My predicted departure time proved prophetic for arrivals. "TABOR31-34" did a run and break (in two pairs) at 13.02 and then landed.
90-0234/MO 90-0243/MO 87-0170/MO 87-0198/MO
The remaining pair "TABOR35-36" were somewhat behind and, after their run and break, landed at 1353/1354.
90-0250/MO 89-0506/MO
In between, landing at 13.33, was "RCH544" C-17A 99-0166 of 62AW with a "McChord" tailband.

Where are they all parked??
They are not on the usual Charlie ramp, but on the next set of dispersals to the West. Today's arrivals are on the North of the taxiway and yesterday's are on the South of the taxiway.
It means a very long walk down that field (I've done it today). Alternatively, I am told that they should be visible from the Warren (accessible through Lakenheath village).

The first (i.e. Thursday's) arrival should be departing tomorrow (Saturday). NOTAM as follows:-
+1hr for BST
This means departure should be about 13.00BST give or take a little bit.

Also tomorrow, we should be seeing the third lot of 6 F-15s. Unfortunately time is unknown.
Guesswork would say that they would not wish to get mixed up in the above departure, so mid-morning or after 13.00. Take your pick.

Cheers Bob
I'm going to have a look to see how many of the initial 12 I need. Then, as it sounds like they're visible, I may do an early visit tomorrow before Middle Wallop.
I'll probably miss the last batch though, unless they come early
Thanks

Chaps - there is a good chance of fog at the Heath first thing on Saturday am - possibly until circa 10am. The humidity is showing 100 per cent already tonight and the temperature and dew point there are the same already (at 22:00 BST Friday night). See XC Weather for updates... xcweather.co.uk/Good luck folks. andover

Thanks for the warning- you were right, it was foggy. It's burned off enough already though, so all 12 F.15s seen, as Bob described. Read off 8 of them, good view of another, tail/cockpit only of the other 3.
The C.17 is still here too.
There are also 7-8 based F.15s out, some with cockpit open. Can't read any yet.

Another warning for anyone coming - the Esso garage at Barton Mills roundabout is on fire! Delays and possible diversions! A fridge has caught fire in the shop/Subway at the Esso service station at the Barton Mills roundabout, causing quite a bit of interior damage..
As at 09.30 the Southbound carriageway of the A11 from the roundabout is shut. The Northbound carriageway to the roundabout is open, but completely solid. Mildenhall town centre is also solid. I assume that Southbound traffic is being diverted via Mildenhall town centre and then the A1102 to Fordham.
North of the roundabout on the A11 and A1065 is clear.

UPDATE:- 09.55 Southbound carriageway now re-opened and traffic flowing smoothly.

Hi Bob
Do you know what the 8 LN F.15s that departed at 10.15 were?
Also (slightly off topic), if you know the 4 CV.22s out at Mildenhall at that time, that would be great too!
Thanks

Haven't been to Mildenhall yet, Phil. Going a bit later, when it is less of a heat haze (I hope).
Your 492FS F-15Es were:-
96-0202 91-0331 91-0332 91-0605 97-0219 91-0307
plus airspares which eventually landed at Lakenheath at 11.46:-
91-0312 91-0327
Cheers,
Bob

The last 6 "MO" F-15Es landed 12.26 - 12.29. Because of the weekend "quiet hours" they were denied a run & break and had to make do with a straight in approach.
Serials were:-
88-1707/MO 90-0240/MO 91-0319/MO 90-0255/MO 88-1697/MO 87-0183/MO
As soon as they had landed the departing wave taxied out to the "last chance" and stood down at 12.45.
Apparently, one of their tankers had a fuel leak. The puddle is going to be cleared up and then leak assessed as to whether it is quickly fixable. If not, then a 24hr delay.
UPDATE:- Fixed. Departure now at 14.30BST

Departure on the dot of 14.30BST.
"TABOR21" Flight (same as Thursday's arrivals) departed on the usual routing > LEE > LUK and hard left for NAT crossing.
Escorting tankers were "CLEAN82" KC-135R 63-8002 and "CLEAN81" KC-10A 79-1711.

Great, thanks for that lot! Don't need any of them unfortunately, but at least I know!
Saw 30 F.15s today! 18 x MO and 12 x LN.
Thanks for your help
420+ mile round trip to then take in Middle Wallop and Old Sarum!

NOTAM posted for Sunday 9th April:-

So, 2nd batch of MOs departure possibly at 12.45BST??

Sunday 09th April 2017
After a very slight delay due to one of the tankers "working a maintenance issue", the second wave of F-15s departed at 13.15BST.
Accompanying tankers were "CLEAN71" KC-10A 87-0120 and "CLEAN72" KC-135R 60-0335. "CLEAN72" returned to Mildenhall as planned (like yesterday) after doing the initial tanking via the usual track > LEE > LUK.
Looking at PP's Inmarsat plots over the Atlantic (after I got home), it would appear that "CLEAN73" KC-135R 62-3512 met them at around 35W.
Just one lot to go now and their NOTAM for tomorrow is
+ 1hr for BST
Again, looking like a 12.45 - 13.15 (BST) departure

Monday 10th April 2017
Everything has gone according to plan, no maintenance issues apparently.
13.13BST "TABOR41" Flight took off from Lakenheath (serials as for Saturday's arrivals) 13.16BST "CLEAN92" KC-135R 62-3577 departed Mildenhall to link up with the TABORs and rout to LEE > LUK and hard left for oceanic. Is doing all the initial refuelling before handing over to "CLEAN91". 13.26BST "CLEAN91" KC-10A 83-0075 departed Mildenhall and routed > NALAX > TLA > MAC and out to join up with the chicks.
"CLEAN92" will return to Mildenhall - if it follows the pattern of the previous two days.

Hi Bob
Just realised that you have a typo on one of your F.15s. In the last 6 arrivals, it should read 90-0255, not 90-0245.
Cheers
