We left home at 07.48BST and had a very good run up - was getting fish and chips in Mildenhall at the old "Snushalls" (now called something else) at 11.40. Then up to Folly Road to eat our lunch and to see what visitors were in:-
84-0187 KC-10A 60AMW..................."Travis" fintip band 79-1711 KC-10A 305AMW.................."McGuire" fintip band 63-8002 KC-135R 22ARW....................no markings except "931ARG" on boom vanes - the associate unit at McConnell 60-0322 KC-135R 434ARW...................blue "Grissom" mid-fin band
On to Lakenheath in time to see the arrival of 6 "MO" F-15Es (see separate thread for serials - all needed) plus "RCH544" C-17A 99-0166 (not needed) in between the two flights.
Then back to the track opposite the base golf course to do the long trek down the field to see the 6 "MO" F-15E that arrived on Thursday (see separate thread for serials - all needed)
Back to Mildenhall to find these had arrived
60-0335 KC-135T 22ARW 83-0076 KC-10A 60AMW.................."Travis" fintip" band.......back from taking the morning's 492FS F-15Es part way down range.
By this time, we decided to check in at the Travelodge (at Barton Mills roundabout) and have a rest.
Dinner was taken at the Red Lodge transport café. Food excellent and cheap. I've been using this for 40 years now, but it is not the same since the by-pass went in.

Woke up to find the shenanigans next door (the fire at the petrol station). Eventually we were able to get down to the Red Lodge for breakfast and then up to Lakenheath by about 11.30 to await the final 6 "MO" F-15Es (see separate thread for serials - all needed) and see the return of the airspares for the Eastbound departure.
When the departing 6 were stood down, we retired back to the Travelodge to have a rest. Will go down to Mildenhall later to see what is about. Hopefully the heat haze will have lessened.
Following a nice rest, a trip up to Mildenhall yielded the following:-
83-0075 KC-10A 60AMW.............."Travis" fintip band 83-0076 KC-10A 60AMW.............."Travis" fintip band 87-0120 KC-10A 305AMW.............."McGuire" fintip band 60-0335 KC-135T 22ARW.............."McConnell" fintip band 62-3577 KC-135R 916ARW.............."First in Flight" mid-fin band 60-0331 KC-135R 940ARW.............."Beale" mid-fin band.............the new TDY "NACHO" machine.....parked near John's Field 63-8002 KC-135R 22ARW..............unmarked

KC-10 84-0187 (confirmed) plus KC-135s 58-0060, 59-1522 and 60-0322 all departed for CONUS during the morning.
The RC-135W 62-4139 I didn't bother looking for and in the fuel cell (wherever that is) was 60-0344 - which again I didn't look for.
The three KC-135s I did not read were two dispersed amongst the South side hangars plus one in a hangar.
Only three CV-22s were out.

Thanks Bob
I know you probably don't need them, but for completeness, 61-0288 was the one in the hangar. In the morning there were 3 amongst the hangars south side, 80118 (which you have down), plus 72605 and 10267.
Cheers

Sunday 9th April 2017
"GOLD24" KC-10A 83-0076 and "CLEAN82" KC-135R 63-8002 both departed back to the US before I got down to the 'Hall after breakfast.
One visitor present when I arrived:-
85-0007 C-5M 435AW............"Dover" mid-fin band.
We left for home just before 12.45 while "CLEAN72" KC-135T 60-0335 was working a maintenance issue. However, this was quickly cleared up and it departed at 13.12. "CLEAN71" KC-10A 87-0120 departed at 13.25 to take the 2nd wave of "MO" F-15Es home.. "CLEAN72" subsequently returned as planned.
"Brucie Bonus" Spotted a C-17 heading SW while having a break at Bicester. It was "RCH973" Alaskan-based 99-0168 and, after getting home, made "RCH967" C-17A 03-3124 heading the same way.
Overall made 18 F-15s, 2 KC-10s and the two C-17s. Nice.
