I visited Aero Expo today with my wife with with prepaid entrance and car park tickets. Our experience here along with a number of other customers was an entry and exit disaster. I have sent the following email to alex@avbuyer.com to explain several deficiences in the way paying customers were treated today. LES

Getting out took ages with a large van coming into the site, refuse truck blocking the road followed by an artic entering the site behind all this - chaos
Otherwise a good day

tried to charge one of us twice before they would let us in ,just said check what you have in your hand ,oh thats ok you can go on then ,which prompted the reply where is the wristband , reply i have given it to you ,i don,t think so says us . they had such a problem finding parking spaces that they had to extend the area further toward the parked aircraft. if they had thought about this beforehand perhaps we might have been able to read the a/c off, felt as though they were parked at white waltham. i would have thought as at sywell you come in pay your £2 parking then go through the gate to pay your entrance fee, and also have a mini bus taking people to the visiting aircraft. the admission fee to me seems excessive for all the lack of organisation and lack of toilet facilities, good job i am not disabled either. i just think someone is trying to make a fast buck at joe publics expence , i have travelled from manchester for all this ,serious rethink is on the cards IF they decide to have it here again .even the pilots had problems getting out at one point with atc going into meltdown i believe it ended up as a free for all till some order came into force regards bob

Bobbystreet 56 As you can see from the email I sent to alex@avbuyer it was a disastrous balls up. The ones raking the money in is alex and members of his family who seem to run avbuyer. The other worrying thing was what was happening to the cash paid at the entrance as we did not see cash tills/boxes. SECURITY BAG CHECKS WAS CRAP especially what has been happening recently. As I am also a LAASI member I have also informed LAASI whom I believe do some sponsorship. Les

hi, I went Friday got in alright and had my bag checked twice, as I went out to go to the car park, for some of the arrivals... my only complaint was I tried 2 e-mails and 3 phone calls for details of the shuttle bus, but nothing so went on spec I waited 40mins for the bus to arrive 4 others a hour. When we asked the driver he said he was doing 0930, 1030, 1130. and 1500,1600. back so much for a "shuttle", apart from that my first visit to Booker and I enjoyed it... regards, dave...

Hi Bob Glad to here you and your good lady had a good weekend. Sue and I are well. Sue was disgusted with the CRAP organisation. My view is more like alex@avbuyer could not " a p... up in a brewery" except good at overcharging for a CRAP service. We will be at LAA Rally Sywell for three days. Just let me know which day you are going so that Sue and I can meet up with you again. On our way home from Booker we had two hours at Luton. We had a very nice chip meal from Rooney's snack bar on the retail park over the road from the Premier Inn outside "Wickes". There is also three hours free parking here to watch arrivals or departures. Plus there is two hours free parking in the long stay car park at the rear of Luton airport. Also called in Birmingham where there were a number of biz jets and passenger aircraft related to the Champions League football. Les

Bob See you there. Called into Sleap today for the advertised three day Anglo Irish fly-in. There were no visitors today, apparently it was one day only ( which was yesterday ). Les

As I foretold in my thurs post, there were going to be big problems on the busy days, the thing is us three in the car (Bill, Dave, myself) could see the problems from the minute we arrived on site, its does make you wonder how a professional events organisation ( which one would assume booker used) could not see the problems we were seeing!

Jeff At the moment I am not blaming Booker but I have concerns that alex@avbuyer who was responsible for organising the event has shown incapabilities re this event. One should note RISK ASSESSMENTS are important as you know yourself with the work you do. In this case they failed but it really looks like they were NOT DONE. YES you, Bill and Dave were right. I am still waiting for a reply from alex@avbuyer. Les

We went yesterday. Thanks to your advice we got there early at 9am and got in with no delay at all. Watched from the car park before the exhibition opened and had a lovely day. Left at 3pm as we wanted to do Luton on the way back and most things had come in by then and drive straight out. Guess we were lucky and the car park was rammed but have to say we had a great day.
