Booker 03/06/17 I emailed a complaint to Alex Ayling - Show Director at " avbuyer " on the evening of 3rd June 2017 ( This can be seen on a a previous posting ). I had no reply after five days so I sent an an email to John Brennan - Managing Director at " av buyer " 8th June 2017 at 1.14pm. Within 31 minutes ( 1.45pm ) I had the following reply from john Brennan :- Twenty minutes later ( 2.05pm ) I had the following reply from Alex Ayling :- It looks like the show will be at Booker next year so we can now compare the above comments from Alex Ayling with reality next year. Bob
I have been at Cosford this afternoon with Sue ( see Cosford post ) to watch some of the practice sessions. ( Cost of £3.00 for parking ). The aircraft that are coming from Shawbury tomorrow will likely route over the house to Cosford, I will be outside renewing some decking with and ear / eye to sky.
It took an email to the Managing Director to get a response from Alex Ayling ( from avbuyer ) the show director.
No decision yet by me on next years attendance at Booker. It could be worth going to see if he keeps to his word.
It is amazing that over 350 had read my original complaint re. Booker on this forum and as I type over 70 had read the avbuyer response I posted this morning.

Bob It was blue sky at 5.00am but now bright with high cloud and a bit of blue. I did call in Birmingham on the way home from Booker and I put some photos on for 3rd June - including football traffic. I will be in the garden to renew some decking and plane spotting about 8.30am. Note: There is likely to be some live streaming of the show including a B52 flypast. Les

I know it's totally different Les but I am on the committee that organises the Devizes Beer Festival every July. We have around 2000 visitors and as the Festival site is on the Wharf here, with the adjacent Kennet & Avon canal, the organisation has to be meticulous; one inebriated punter taking a trip into the canal could see the end of 19 years of hard work. We have a (very) strict set of guidelines that we have to follow. It seems incredible to me that a) you guys who visited weren't able to purchase an all-in-one ticket to cover car park and show entrance and b) that access to and from the car park was via a single track road.
How anyone needs to "learn" from such a basic mistake is beyond me, how can you even hope to marshall two way traffic along a single track road? That should have been up there with the most important aspects of organising the show. let's face it, if you can't even get in or get out without a massive struggle, then who will bother to go next time? Seems to me they just "hoped for the best" when it would have taken minimum effort to organise a two way traffic flow.

Graham There is a requirement for the show organisers to do RISK ASSESSMENTS before the event takes place. Having done over 2000 risk assessments in the job I did I know my complaint was not answered re the show organiser not appearing to have done them. Thanks to the AFA site over 350 viewed the complaint and the total of viewings on the response are over 100. Les
