Hi Mike - no, sadly it never did. I'll try to remember the names of those behind Imperial that I dealt with in my then CAA days. My memory, which may be askew, is that there were issues with the paperwork from Canada on the DC8 itself which didn't help things. It was a one time Spanish Air Force machine. It was finally broken up at Lasham in 97 having arrived there I think in late 94 (I first photographed her there in January 95). I'll scratch what's left of my grey cells and report back.

Dave
Thank you. With an airline name like that, I'll bet the seating arrangements were not cattle class! A Dc-8 is a fair sized machine, so I wonder just how many passengers, presumably in great comfort, it could potentially carry in that guise. It was a far seeing idea and might have worked had not the financial woes of the world intervened.

I saw these two together from home probably on the Thursday evening. They had their black sides facing me,and with the ears sticking out and moving very slowly they looked like something out of a science fiction film.

Thanks both for the kind comments. A nice surprise to open up the site today and see one of my own shots as the banner. It's even colour co-ordinated with the "Aviation for All" letterhead. Is that by accident or design?
