Well despite the problems that occurred with the display ,and I did speak to Peter on Saturday about this, I must say I had a great day, hats off to Peter and everyone else involved in making this event happen. Reading through the gripes that have appeared elsewhere, you all done a grand job and I do hope Peter will respond in time to those that have rubbished the great efforts that were put into making the 75th go ahead. Here's a few of my pics , hope you enjoy them Blackbushe75 (16) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (15) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (14) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (13) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (12) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (11) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (10) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (9) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (8) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (7) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (6) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (5) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (4) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (3) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (2) by duct monkey, on Flickr Blackbushe75 (1) by duct monkey, on Flickr and finally, anyone know this man seen furtively mooching around ? Great photos Paul, thanks for posting. I couldn't believe some of the moans I've read about the two days. Some people were just born bloody ungrateful. Well done to Peter and all the volunteers and exhibitors.

It must be bloody hard to arrange something like this,it's not like they have had many shows in the past to learn from.I was there on the Saturday and I enjoyed it,nice to see so many old planes (and people for that matter) and it would be great if Blackbushe could hold something every year.

Thank you for your kind remarks and great photos guys...
We went through hell and high water to bring this event to fruition, circumstances beyond our control chewed and nagged and could easily have taken us down - we did not let them.
I hope those who have no more in life than to moan while not lifting a finger to help will recall that we did this not just to mark Blackbushe's 75th, but to support our three charities all of whom do huge amounts for the disabled and our injured service personnel.
The gripers may wish to consider how fortunate they are to enjoy their health and freedom, and how that stacks up with the guys that we are trying to help faced with dreadful injuries for the rest of their days. Sometime reason escapes argument, maybe those who find fault would care to volunteer to run the next Blackbushe event and show us how it should be done??
We were overjoyed by the vast amount of positive support and appreciation for what we managed to achieve.
Thanks one and all.. Peter B

Spot on Peter, whilst I can understand ( just ) some of the gripes from joe public, the comments from so called aviation enthusiasts on other forums really gets up my nose, they should know the difficulty's facing organisers of such events, especially post Shoreham, but there you go! All I will say is, for the price of a packet of golden Virginia I had a good day out, as did the people with me, and knowing the money was for good causes as well. I hope the problems haven't dampened your enthusiasm and I do look forward to more at your beloved Blackbushe, again many thanks to all that made it possible and as the old saying goes, " nil carborundum illegitimi " be8b4256464caa30f4009837d1f88fde by duct monkey, on Flickr

Sadly work meetings in Brussels prevented me from volunteering (and even attending) this time. However those I have spoken to had a thoroughly good day out for an entry price on the day cheaper than even an off peak train return from Basingstoke to London. The proceeds also went to far more worthy recipients than SW Trains and if the entry fee enabled an injured serviceman to get treatment or a disabled person to do what they perhaps never though possible and to slip the surly bonds of earth then well done to Peter and all concerned. Peter had many hurdles to overcome , some very last minute. To his credit (and those who helped) it still went ahead. Yes a glitch or two I hear but there will always be those that dwell on the negatives. Don't suppose many (if any) of them did anything to help out though. More power to your elbow Peter. Private Pyle's latin says it all.

Yeah, I get that mate, hence my , I can understand (just) bit, my gripe were the comments from those who should have a bit more of a handle on how these things work or don't as the case was with the flying

Volunteer here - good to see the mostly positive feedback. It was heartening to see how busy it was, especially on Sunday. Made it all worthwhile.

I too could not attend or volunteer much as I would like to have done so. I have followed the trials and tribulations over the months of planning.
I think Peter you and everyone involved should be proud of achieving a fantastic weekend. Many no doubt never thought it would never happen.
Two thoughts
1) It showed what could be done with tremendous perseverance 2) Peter - On a personal level to have the sight of some of those iconic machines must have been a tonic to you beyond all things.
You must all be exhausted but elated
The Bushe has much to offer and I hope it may spur more interest, involvement and maybe - just maybe, recognition from the local authorities that this is an asset to be developed not trashed.
Best wishes to you all
Dereks
