For the third fly in running,we didn't see any of the themed aircraft mentioned in the titles, also Popham was so slow yesterday that I could only bother to stay a couple of hours due to the boredom and possibly still suffering the after effects of my son's wedding on the Saturday, listed below is what I logged from 10.30-12.30:
G-PVCV Robin N3999 PA32 G-BXBU Cap 10 G-BWYR Rans S6 WP964/(G-HDAE) Chipmunk G-LEBE Europa G-ATEF Cessna 150
Seen flying through the zones:
G-OWOW Cessna 152 M-ERRY Sikorsky S76B G-XRVX Vans RV10 G-JSCA PA28RT G-ATHK Aeronca
Just the one airliner noted:
9H-TQM A340 HiFly Malta (operating a Norwegian flight)

Thanks for posting the list David, I to left after a couple of hours as it was so slow. I wonder if Popham have any interaction with the "owners clubs" as is seems strange that as you say not a single example of the themed type turned up during the morning. Chris

I suppose you could argue in their defense that they were in competition against the Flying Legends event @ Duxford, there was also a Vans fly in @ North Weald and one of the marshallers told me that due to an admin cock-up they didn't have any fuel available until this morning but it doesn't explain the previous two fly ins.I know that the Popham events are listed in Flyer magazine amongst others but I'm at a loss to explain why the Popham flyins seem to be poorly attended recently.Of course another factor to throw in is the poor weather forecasting we seem to be seeing on a regular basis eg yesterday's forecast for Winchester was thick cloud and heavy showers, well that didn't happen.I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens when the next fly in arrives which is due on Sunday 13th August.
