Don't believe a word you read in the press. According to today's The Times, the Belgian Air Force flew 4 F14s over Tyne Cot yesterday. Now that would have been a sight! (no I don't buy The Times, I was at the dentist!)

Some decent weather led to the following being logged:

A difficult day OTT with no trails, but at least made 3 LHR departures, SP-LWD 738 LOT, 9K-AOL 773 Kuwait and B-7952 773 Air China. Keep missing the SAS CRJ900s, they turn north too soon to be visible from my bedroom window.

August started with lots of cloud, and rain, with some good breaks of blue at times but most of the interesting stuff that went over today was concealed, so a few more fillers will do. 9V-SMG A350, Singapore Airlines HB-IPV A319, Swiss N223KB Cirrus SR22T Platinum, Sancerre Inc TC-JRV A321, Turkish Airlines F-GZNP B777, Air France

Hi Guys,
Much to my surprise I've actually put 4 in the log so far... Think I have only potted 1 but the weather this morning has been blowy, thick cloud with the odd break here and there but it is trying to brighten up...
Those logged are;
OE-GWS Ce560 Arr FAB 11.19 HZ-AR13 B787-9 Saudia OTT 11.43 (thru a terrifically timed gap in the clouds....) G-KSST AW.169 going east at 11.50 A6-SHJ A320 UAE arr FAB 12.40
Didn't pot anything yesterday but I did bag 4 frames and 2 scrapes on the 1st... So I'm off the blocks for August...
Cheers.

Mixed day weather wise, and then busy with other things so settled for a few adds in the morning: G-BYXZ Grob G115E Tutor, Babcock Aerospace Ltd HB-IOC AA321, Swiss A7-ADA A320, Qatar Airways for BA N322SB Cessna 525C CitationJet CJ4, Switchback Argentina Llc N59034 B777, United Airlines Holidays coming up. Last year in Croatia I managed a ridiculous 250 plus haul all from FR24 on tablet with great wifi at pool side and on balconies. No such luck this year, where we are staying only has wifi in the lobby so not gonna see much from there! Happy spotting, and for Graham happy trails!

The weather's gone back to be rather changeable, with bits of blue, then cloud, then rain, the blue again. Nothing massively of note these past 3-4 days although the best has to be N522FE which is my last FedEx MD-11, which sailed past me heading east on the 5th

The day started well for me with a rare KC-135R 61-0308 coming in (just) before I woke up.
This one has been at Kadena for quite some time before being re-assigned to McConnell earlier this year (after rework?). It hasn't visited the 'Hall for over 15 years.

With no chance of even seeing anything fly today, I updated my flight log on Planebase (374 flights in total so far) and realised that it was 45 years ago tomorrow that I made my first solo in a glider.

A pretty awful last few days weatherwise although this morning is clear skies but nothing seems to be trailing.
Just three pots in the last three days
N508RA - SR22 N228RE - GLF4 VP-BLW - GLF5
I have to see a customer in Alton today so may well put the camera in the car and pop into Lasham

It was outside a couple of days ago that's all I know for sure. It's had a complete avionics refit so I would imagine there will have to be a couple of test flights before it goes. I'll see what I can find out over the weekend. Cheers Mark

Four in the book today:
N988S Falcon 2000 (inbound Farnborough) N970SF Falcon 900EX D-KBTP Schleicher ASH.25* OY-XXB Schempp-Hirth Ventus 2*
* these two gliders are taking part in the European Gliding Championships being held @ Lasham and were obviously on a practice flight, they were both circling trying to gain height and if the German one had been any lower he would have joined me in the back garden.

Made a couple today, EC-MPV 321 Vueling inbound LTN and D-AINF 320neo outbound LHR. But low cloud prevented me from seeing a selection of needed LHR departures, HL7418 744 Asiana (bother, my last one), PT-MOE 763 LATAM, B-1429 773 Air China and HB-JCB CS300 Swiss.

A good start yesterday ended on a very high note. Having made my final FedEx MD11 a couple of days ago, what should come heading east at 2000 BST but N355UP, my final UPS 767 and there were sufficient gaps in the cloud to easily see her.
Others from yesterday were...
N7325 - GLF5 HB-CCR - C210 G-BXWO - PA28 N407TR - GLF5 G-BRSX - PA17 was just taking off from Coate strip as I walked down there with the dogs at 1530 BST

But have you got their "new" one N363UP, acquired recently from JAL? Heading your your way is the new KLM 789 PH-BHL, just going into the back garden to look for it!

Morning Jerry, no I haven't seen 363 so I guess I'm back to needing one to clear the fleet. Thanks for the PH-BHL heads up - I need her and those South American bound KLMs usually go right over the house.
