Well after a slow August with no trips, apart from a short visit to the AVP at Manchester and a non spotting trip to "Country File Live" at Blenheim Palace where I did make my one flying balloon of the year. However did make 62 new frames for the month which I was happy with.
Back to Sywell, picked up my hire car Friday and left ours at 05:30 Saturday morning- had planned to go to Luton and Cranfield before Sywell, but a lot of fog put me off. So I bit the bullet and parked up in free car park at 08:30.
Went to the ticket office bought my entrance ticket and joined the back of the queue waiting to get in.
Whilst waiting bumped into Les (Telford) with his grandson. Had a quick chat and said would see him later. Sorry could not find you Les, hope you had a productive spotting day, and I hope Sue makes a speedy recovery following her operation.
Whilst waiting in the queue C17
07-7172 went OTT heading east with a nice trail at 09:10
Well the weather was gorgeous all day stayed till 14:40 when the arrivals were down to a trickle. Logged over 500 obviously a few duplicates, but hopefully a few will hit the books. Would have been more if the hangar area had not been cordoned off. Ended up being one of the best LAA's for a couple of years thanks mainly to the weather.
On the way home I went to
Husbands Bosworth and
Sibbertoft across the road where 5 were noted. Then to
East Midlands which was a nil return and my last call of the day was to
Tatenhill. Then back on the M6 which was not too busy and home bang on half six. Then it was a chippy tea and a few beers before I was sent to bed just after ten by the wife (Knackered)
.
Well that's me trips and post's ? wise till April 2018, apart from a non spotting holiday to Cyprus-in the coming weeks, and obviously airways, Liverpool and Manchester. Has been a half decent busy year spotting with a lot of long journeys. But now it is
Work and Football until it starts all over again in April 2018.
Happy Days
Bob
