Great shots Jeff, reminded me of the "mobile lounges" that were in use at Washington Dulles in the 1970s before improvements at the airport ended their usefulness. Dulles mobile lounge by Graham Brown, on Flickr

Hi Jeff.I know there was a hovercraft there years ago when the Perry oaks? sewage place was still there, but I don't know if they still have it. Thanks again for thinking of me,really appreciated. The last time I as at that Fire Station it was still landside!!

Hi Jeff
An interesting selection, you've got me intrigued as to what the apparatus is in front of the cab on the No 14 steps vehicle, I presume it's maybe a joining part between the steps and the aircraft?

Hi Jargon, the front apparatus is a rescue platform for accessing cargo holds etc,or for use with smaller aircraft.

Chaps, strangely enough a friend of mine who is into all things that fly, hover or drive visited the hovercraft museum at Lee-on-Solent over the weekend and posted a photo of the LHR hovercraft on Facebook. It was kept in case a plane went down in the Perry Oaks sewage works. I'll see if I can put it up on here. My mate says it's a Hoverguard 800
