I know this was mentioned a while ago but I can't find the thread, Bill kindly told me exactly where to look to see this as we parted company after our day at LHR, and sure enough, I finally got a look at it. Can anyone give the reg please? Google doesn't seem to offer anything. Cheers

Hi Graham Think I've found it in Airliners.net. If you put in DHL and the Off Airport search, you should get a side shot of B732 G-CEAF. Full MSN is given in the photo description, taken by a Steve Brimley on April 25th 2011. HTH Cheers Steve

I've always had it on good authority as being from B727 P4-MMG late of Lasham, Southend & Hurn and thus more appropriate for DHL than a 737??

Looking at the picture which Steve cited, the nose section has a door behind the cockpit on the right hand side. P4-MMG had no such door but G-CEAF did which would suggest that it is after all a 737. Can anyone confirm that the nose currently at Colnbrook does have that door or did DHL get two noses from Hurn?

Apologies if I've set anyone off on a wild goose chase. A bit more research has pulled up this legacy "European Paintshop" blog post from the old Farnborough Aviation Group site (which I can no longer access) from our mate yorky22 from Hurn, back on Jan 21st 2010 -
"Other items of note today - cockpit section of old 727 P4-MMG is now in DHL yellow c/s, on lowloader about to depart to new home at Heathrow for crew training!! (would have expected EMA)."
On paper, that's not a lot further forward, however Dave's door positioning looks to be the deciding factor.
Other aviation databases list the nose of B732 G-CEAF as being trucked specifically to Colnbrook in DHL scheme in 2010.
Hope you took a picture Graham & can identify the frame from that.

Thanks so much Steve & Dave, unfortunately, I was sailing past on the A4 having just left LHR so just grabbed a quick look across to the frame as I drove by.
EDIT - just checked my con number logs and regardless of what it is, it's a scrape!
G-CEAF is ex OO-SDD Sabena c/n 20910 and P4-MMG is ex D-ABIM Lufthansa c/n 18368, would be interesting to determine what exactly the frame at Colnbrook is.

A check on my ADU confirms its G-CEAF with a construction number of 20910

Hi Arya,
According to Wrecks & Relics (online version) it’s still there, somewhere…
On another note, welcome to AFA. We’re a very friendly bunch so feel free to add/ask anything. Any help needed, just post on the relevant section and I’d lay money on that someone will know the answer.
Bill
