Three in the book for yesterday morning before going off to Reading to watch the Royals play Middlebrough (the least said about that the better),however @ 16.30 an Avanti P.180 flew over the stadium, playback on FR24 suggests that is was M-ONTE,at least I got something out of the game, the three made @ home in the morning were:
VQ-BBM B747-8F Silk Way West EI-FVX B737 Norwegian (EDI-BCN) N829AN B787-9 American (CDG-DFW)

Yes, I made EI-FVX as well as Ryanair EI-GDF (am now up to date to GDH). A pair of fairly new 773s 9K-AOM on LHR departure and A6-EQF on the EK235 DXB-ORD but missed B-16740 EVA which was above the cloud as it went overhead at around 5000ft. PP-INC Legacy was a nice frame heading WSW at high altitude. Finally OY-FWO F7X inbound FAB which took an unusual route via Ockham.
Taken by surprise this morning by the new JAL 788 service from Tokyo (JL41/42, departs LHR 09.30). Very welcome, but turned north too quickly to be visible. JA837J was today’s machine, think this is a regular daily service.

Returning to the theme of JAL 788s, it appears only a few are used on European routes. The CDG service in the last month has used JA836-40/42-45J (JA841J has been used almost exclusively on Tokyo-Beijing). However, 9 frames to make is a lot better than none!
The Frankfurt and Helsinki services use 789s.

An interesting day. The winter timetable at LHR produced JA837J 788 JAL (missed) and HL8079 350 Asiana (made) plus G-PRPF DHC 8-400 FlyBe. Not bad for biz either with OE-IGG and N688ZJ GLEX (the latter was my 400th GLEX frame) and SP-KCS C.525.

Missed the JAL 788 out of LHR again (JA845J today) but made A7-BFM 77F Qatar and OO-FPE C.525B. But best by far was EW-450TR IL62 out of Doncaster, heading south at FL330. I know this has visited the UK before, but it was a frame for me, my first IL62 since March 2007!

Talking about missing things, LHR 27 departures are frustrating, can see them (just) from my bedroom window unless they turn north shortly after take-off. Of course, the highly desirable JAL 788s and Iran Air 330s do just that. At least the Qatar 350s on QR16 do Dover departures and go overhead, made A7-ALS a few minutes ago. Waiting for the leaves to fall off my neighbour’s beech tree, which will give me a better view of departures.
Thin high cloud all day, could see some trails through it. Made D-AIXE 350 on the LH424 MUC-BOS and PH-EXP E170 heading for SOU (just need EXK which did the evening CWL trip but could not see it) and local flyer G-CPLH Cabri (light helicopter).
(edit) plus EI-FXE ATR42F Fedex just went overhead routing NCL-CDG.
