Recent comments on the new FAB forum

Dear all, some of you have been members on here long enough to remember the series of personal attacks that were posted on AFA, mainly relating to Jeff and myself by two individuals by the names of David Silk and a person who signed himself in as "sledgehammer" in July 2015. All sorts of allegations were made, none of them with any foundation in fact, and the two individuals were banned.
Those of you who also use Andrew Harkin's new FAB forum may have seen a thread that started on December 18th where a person calling himself " shottermiller" drags the thing back up; he refers to the recent spamming we had here from some Chinese individuals and takes great delight in reporting that " the entire forum was turned into Chinese script" or words to that effect and a friend of his posts a screen shot of the AFA page. "Shottermiller" then proceeds to write that "justice has been done as I was banned a couple of years ago".
"shottermiller" is of course one of the individuals who caused so much trouble on here in July 2015 albeit he now uses a different pseudonym. He is also totally incorrect because as our regular posters know, all we suffered from the spammer were two separate posts of Chinese script which were quickly removed and the offending "member" removed and banned.
If you read on through the thread on the FAB forum, you will see this "shottermiller" makes further daft allegations that I was trying to take over the old FAB forum from Tony (the owner)and that I along with many other AFA members were unsympathetic to his personal situation. For the record, when Tony started to act very erratically on the old FAB forum, Jeff who was moderator, said to me that he really believed Tony would pull the plug, which of course he did around the 21st/22nd January 2015. I had contacted Tony to politely ask whether, if he was going to walk away from the old FAB forum, then rather than all the great stuff on there be wiped clean, which he also did of course, that a small group of us could take the forum on, albeit it would still remain HIS forum. He replied with an emphatic "NO" and proceeded to wipe the forum clean of most of its content, including Peter Brown's magnum opus "Blackbushe" thread which had run for over four years.
Because Jeff had gotten wind of this, he and I decided to start a forum, albeit not a "live" one at that time, more a safe place where we set about transferring a lot of Peter Brown's thread, this of course being prior to Tony pulling the plug. As soon as the old FAB forum went "offline" on 22nd January 2015, Jeff and I took the decision to make our fledgling forum live and of course, it became AFA.
This Mr Silk and whomever else is involved in his scheming, seem to take the view that we here at AFA and Andrew Harkin's new FAB forum are "rivals"; nothing could be further from the truth, both have their niches and both have a great set of members and regular contributors.
Andrew has decided ( for the time being possibly..)to let "shottermiller's" thread run and both Jeff and I have responded to set the record straight although of course, shottermiller's having none of it.
I'm pretty certain that after almost three years of existence, our members here know what a friendly forum we have, as many remark upon it with regularity. There's no sniping, no snarky replies or comments and of course, no crazy rules and regulations. It may well be that "shottermiller" and his cronies are envious of what we have here and just couldn't resist dredging up the past, albeit a past they were responsible for creating, or maybe they regret not taking the bull by the horns and starting their own forum three years ago, who knows?
So please, a big thank you to every member here for making AFA the friendly forum it is, we will never be intimidated by half-baked attempts to ridicule us, discredit us or whatever. I have told "shottermiller" that I will comment no further and have wished all on Andrew's forum a happy 2018.
