........and how about this for the same aircraft's current guise of FAB-111 with (the civilian side of) the Bolivian Air Force?

However, it is reported on Scramble as now in store at Cochabamba.

Cheers Graham,
Got a real soft spot for Sun Country. Having been with NWA for almost 20 years we always saw their B727’s in MSP, some of which I think we leased/sold to them, but when they had a few DC -10’s (think we also leased/sold at least one of them too) in the fleet they looked terrific in the SC scheme.
In more recent years I completed an eight month contract for them when they were trying to get ETOPS experience to gain US military clearance for charter work, which they are still fulfilling to this day.
Sadly they appear to be going through some tough times, with the third owner now in place, in about 5 years... If they were to disappear MSP would be without an headquartered airline since 1926!!!
Good luck to Sun Country.
Bill

Hi Graham/Bill - they did look nice in the sun but could also be effective in rotten weather as when I graphed this one in Boston in 1999 after a fairly major storm had just passed through. The rainbow was still lingering when I graphed the US Air Shuttle 727 shortly before. Graphed a few of their 727s over the years but only seem to have graphed one of their DC10s (this one is not ex Northwest I'm afraid)and sadly at the end of its days in Victorville in 2004. Have a great 2018 and thanks to all who have made this such a great site. 99-mv by dave tompkins, on Flickr 99-ms by dave tompkins, on Flickr 04-ni by dave tompkins, on Flickr

Great shots Dave but always a huge shame to see such a wonderful machine falling to bits in her final resting place, Great shot too Bob, could never get enough of the 727.
