Thanks again Bob but I'm unlikely to get there much before 1130 - I'd like to see that one so here's hoping the crew have a good night out in the Cotswolds tonight - I'm sure such things wouldn't go down well with the tanker crews though!
PS: When I was working in Bahrain - the VC10 tanker crews used to frequent a certain night club till the early hours with a 10am departure the following morning pretty much every day. However, they were only drinking orange juice?

The C-17 apparently took a bird through an engine on landing so looks like at least a night stop Cheers Mark

Thanks very much to Bob for the updates and the warning that they might be leaving soon. And thanks to Mark for his post on FC advising that they weren’t flying today.
These bits of info meant I made the effort to pay a flying visit this afternoon, as I needed 2 of the 4.
All clearly visible from the usual Marston Mersey crash gate.
Cheers

Well done, Phil. You should have made one anyway (61-0005) as it was a 1st time visit to the UK (as was the diverted "MYTEE91" 61-0018 while it was here).
I would have posted if anything had been flying today.
Cheers,
Bob

Yes needed 60-0012 and 61-0005. They were my 198th and 199th B.52 so it’s a shame I didn’t catch -0018 !
However, by the sounds of it, there should be several opportunities this year to catch my 200th! Cheers

Rumour, and I stress rumour, says 7 more bomber deployments, with "Sabre Strike" to have all three types like last year. We shall see.

All four departing tomorrow Tuesday 30th - pretty early, looking at their Canadian refuelling track AR62(W) booking of 1330z-1615z.
Where that refuelling track is:-
1) Go to sua.faa.gov/sua/siteFrame.app. 2) Click on the "Text List" tab 3) In the first column, select the top filter "Aerial Refueling Routes/Anchors - AR" 4) In the "Center ID" column, filter on "DCC" (type it in). 5) Click on the "Zoom" magnifying glass icon against the line. 6) click the "-" zoom arrow once.
Goose Bay Airport/CFB Goose Bay is (more or less) at the SW end of the huge inlet to the SE of the black line.
