Flight FDX9702 is expected into Fairford on 03/01/2018 with an ETA of 06.36.
It is coming from Minot AFB, ND - the home of 5BW and their B-52Hs.
Looks like a deployment is on the cards very shortly.

Absolutely no idea at present, chaps. We only got the initial news yesterday. A total and utter guess would say 2/3 aircraft for about 2 weeks, but we will have to wait and see.
The FedEx is due back out at 06.15z tomorrow - back to Minot (to do another round trip?).

12.55z They are having real problems getting down due to visibility (3200m in mist) and cloudbase (400ft) and the ILS on 09. Have made several attempts, including switching runways to 27.
Have gone into hold pending a decision as to whether to divert (to Mildenhall).
13.15z Will try one more attempt at Rwy27 and that will be it at Fairford.........for today anyway.

Cheers, Mark.
Just to add to that, it has neither tail code nor fin stripe. Ex Barksdale (2BW) now with 23BS/5BW apparently.....credit FC for this bit.
Would have posted the serial myself, but was in too much of a hurry to get up there to see it before it left.
As a bonus, "BARON51" had returned, so still need another trip to see the other two. FAA Challenger N86 was also present.

Hi Bob
Do you think it's likely that all 5 B52's will be on the ground over the weekend?
Many thanks
Keith

No Keith, there will only be the deployment four.
61-0018 only diverted in for a "gas & go", because one of the two tankers (that Mildenhall sent up to refuel it) declared an IFE just after take-off and returned to Mildenhall. It should be on its way fairly soon.
Cheers,
Bob

Hi Keith,
Looks as if it is night-stopping now, as the crew will have run out of hours. Better make it an early visit to Fairford just in case it is an earlyish departure.
