We were talking about having our Boiler serviced as it is almost a year old. My Wife rang the installer to arrange a date using a normal house 'phone. My PC was switched off,the only other electronic items in use were the Sky box,TV and a very old mobile 'phone inside a handbag. When I put the PC on again some time later, there in front of me was an ad for Boiler servicing. Coincidence,or is somthing in the house listening to us? We don't have any of these gadgets that you talk to. I read an article in our local paper recently about similar things happening Has anyone else had this happen?

That's spooky for sure Bob. I know if for example I'm looking at stuff on Ebay on my mobile, then whatever I'm looking at will usually appear on my PC as an ad within half an hour or so. But from a landline?....weird or just an odd coincidence?

Hi Bob On the line of weird coincidences..... A couple of weeks ago I was looking through some of my dads belongings and came across a collection of small flexible plastic ships, now I've known these from early childhood and played with them. I remembered they had the ships names moulded on the underside of the plastic, so I googled for an image of what I thought would be the most obscure of them, the tanker 'Tina Onassis' Lucky me a match and it got me this page showing them to have been a giveaway in Sugar Puffs (which I have never known my mum or dad to eat) in 1958 . cerealoffers.com/Quaker_Ltd/Sugar_Puffs/1950s/Model_Ships/model_ships.htmlThis shows we have a few missing, Queen Elizabeth and Empress of Britain in Series 1 and Arcadia in series 2 so if anyone has spares?? Anyway I mentioned this excellent site cerealoffers.com/home.html to friend Gary knowing that he and others would enjoy it. In passing I told him what I'd been hunting to find the site and he immediately told me that he'd only just read an article on 'A 60 year old plastic ship from a Cereal ship being found in the Arctic' and this is the article www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5196413/What-toy-1958-Sugar-Puffs-packet-tells-us.htmlNow weirder still I have a few ships in multiples in different coloured plastic, but only one Mauretania and it's Yellow. Regards John

hi morning, when/if I google anything then I get adverts appearing on my pc sites, but a few years ago I used to ring a uncle in the states more or less very evening, as he was old and living by himself, and he always said about people listening in but we ere two old fellas having a moan, then I found out about the Sentinels and Nimrods at Waddington, also the Army Defenders. We've had the Defenders circling Manchester a few times... So when we were saying goodnight we always added "hope we haven't offended anyone"...
it must have been ok has i'm still here, gotta go someones knocking... regards, dave...

John,
Thats a lovely story mate. I guess your mum and dad loved you and your sister so much they bought you sugar puffs.... Not my favourite cereal but failing that suggestion maybe mum and dad collected model boats...
Personally I prefer the first option...
God bless all mum and dads....
Cheers mate.

Yes god bless them all
These listening devices, I have an 'Alexa', they are very good by the way, however Alexa does have an attitude, so the wife says !! She seems to do all I ask but if the other half asks her something theres always seems to be a problem!!! Of course I'm very sympathetic with the good wife but on occasions I do have to give my excuses to go to laugh somewhere out of earshot !
