I met up with Bill and Jeff on the A419 just a couple of miles from the exit to Fairford, we drove to the eastern side of the field first on Whelford Road to see if the U-2 was visible but the hangars were closed. So, then a short drive to the opposite end of the field to the crash gate down the track in Marston Meysey where all five B-52s were parked. Only two were fully visible, both the "0005s", the other three were obscured by buildings or grass mounds but I took a shot of all five. Apologies for the final shot, far from the best. Well done, guys - at least you saw all five of them.
As Mike ("slogen51") said on FC, you would have got a better view from the Northside crash gate near Rhymes - although the planes are further away. As I'm not a photographer, it doesn't matter to me.
For the future, if you - or anyone else for that matter - doesn't know where the Northside crash gate is:-
Follow the road through Marston Meysey and at the end of the village follow the road round the bend to the left (go past the MM crash gate turn) and continue to first turn on right. Take the right turn and continue for a while until you reach a crossroads immediately at the end of a wooded stretch. Take a right turn and follow the narrow road carefully down to the crash gate (which is on a bend where the road doubles back on itself to the left). There is room to park for several cars.
Cheers,
Bob

I suspect that there will be plenty of next times. It is rumoured that there will be bombers at Fairford for most of the year!!
