As far as the Met men are concerned, summer should arrive today yet we've already enjoyed almost two months of unbroken sunshine and a gradual refilling of the skies, even if it is mainly GA. Much of Yorkshire was underwater in early 2020 but is now being told to conserve water. We have a holiday to Greece booked for mid September, let's see if that materialises.....

Not a bad start to June for me with PA28s G-AVLF & BOJI; Ce172 G-AWUZ; PA18 G-ECUB; TB10 G-OFIT; Ce406 G-BVJT (FAB-Hurn) *B737 EI-ESS (DUB-LGW)
Yes, all regular stuff, but it is nice to see some aircraft in the skies over Aldershot again in recent weeks, especially when I manage to 'bag' one or two.
I love going abroad. I thoroughly enjoyed Amsterdam for my 60th last year & Friedrichshafen, Germany the year before, Not yet been to Greece. The thing that would put me off foreign travel at present is the thought of two weeks quarantine on my return.

Yes, Greece is always a pot fest m'lud, Crete is the best, its main airport is busier than Athens from May through till late September plus you get to see all the OTTs heading NW from Egypt, Israel and the Gulf States plus the OTT's heading east and west that transit the island. Rhodes ( where we "hope" to be travelling to this year) is also very busy.
On the main changeover days in Crete, you can see a constant flow of inbounds from those countries concerned, eastern European/Russian changeover days are the best with a stream of VP and VQ airliners all day.
Considering it IS a holiday and the missus would go loopy if I spent all day out on the balcony with the bins and FR24, the first time we went to Crete after I resumed spotting in 2013, I came home with well over 500 frames in the bag, that from an hour or so each morning and maybe 90 minutes most early evenings before we stepped out for some drinks and dinner. Where we stay is right beneath final approach for Kazantzakis and everything goes over at around 3,000ft.
Spotting heaven....

The runway change at LHR has meant I missed the Namibian A330 just landed, but I just caught the departing Vietnam 787-10 before it reached the clouds. Would I have preferred to forgo the Vietnam for the Namibian? Probably.
Caught the Namibian on climb out as it turned South, so happy days.

Two for me on the 4th
ZM419 A400m doing circuits at Southampton
N703BM TBM700 that was about to land at Lee when Sonaca 200 G-LKAM had what looked like a nose wheel collapse, so N703BM spent time in the hold before heading to Thruxton.

My first zero of the month yesterday, a couple about I needed, but the deteriorating weather put the kibosh on that. Manky again here today, was beautifully clear when I got up at 6am but cool, wet and blowy now.

Evening
On Saturday a quick run to Southampton to see HB-VLX PC-24 which stayed less than an hour
Sunday 6th saw me at Portsmouth to watch the QE Carrier depart.
On her deck was Merlins
ZH827, ZH857 & ZH837 (ZH857 was what i needed)
Flying along the coast over Portsmouth in to Lee On Solent was G-MCGV AW169 which had arrived from Lydd at 23.30 the night before
Today then finished with a quick run down to Lee to see G-MCGZ S92 that came in for a rotor running refuel before resuming a rescue mission.
Cheers all
