Well, what a terrible year and it just keeps getting worse. We've just been notified that our third planned holiday of the year has now been cancelled, we were due to go to Cornwall for a week in a cottage but that has now bitten the dust.
Went out last night for a final blow out before the next lockdown kicks in, just an all pervading air of gloom and despondency all around. Only benefit has been that at least it kept the trick or treaters at home, which in my opinion is the worst of all American imports. Little bastards banging on your front door demanding chocolate and if you tell them to piss off, then your car suddenly turns into a giant omelette...;0)

Better day today. This morning, LOT E175 SP-LID was seen heading into LHR, then after doing the weekly shop (and yes Lidl did still have toilet rolls) Easyjet A321n OE-ISE went OTT. Unfortunately Qatar new A350 A7-ANR turned the wrong way on departure from LHR, but sister ship ANO obliged by turning South and into my book. Strangest sight this afternoon was 3 A119s in trail formation crossing from Kent into Essex, G-HZRD, G-MADX, G-WHIP.

Was fortunate to see both the Brize visitors from home yesterday, the Luxembourg A400 went by westbound just a couple of miles to my north on her rather erratic approach to BZZ, the Italian Do28 came out later and sailed by to my west, again, just a couple of miles away
As well as those two, these also hit the book
VT-IEH - A320 - INDIGO en route to SNN, return to lessor flight G-BJYT - BN2 G-PIXX - R44 G-UNAC - PA32

I had my last pub visits on Oct 31st. Quite depressing that they were to be the last ones for a month. I can only hope that this lockdown does only last one month, but it will probably feel like a long month!

During the last lockdown Phil, 3 or 4 pubs here in Devizes were offering home delivery and/or click and collect. A very few pubs nationally abused that process and because of those, the government this time is not allowing click and collect which seems a massive over reaction. They seem to think that a bloke will order a pint online, pay online and then turn up with a glass to fill which he then proceeds to guzzle out in the street. The click and collect was a lifeline for many of our pubs, you'd think that, given the high duty on beer and that the government is broke, it could at least recoup some tax by letting the pubs offer the same again.
No doubt the House of Commons bar will be open throughout the lockdown....

No doubt the House of Commons bar will be open throughout the lockdown.... That wouldn't surprise me at all Graham. It's such a shame that pubs seem to be being used as something of a scapegoat in all this. All the pubs that I've been in inbetween lockdowns have been run responsibly.
