Into the final month of an awful year, lockdown is partially lifted for most of us, shops are back open, but no pubs unless they serve a meal. Cue the death knell for the hospitality industry....
But Christmas is just around the corner, five days to eat, drink, be merry and prepare for the next lockdown in January.

Kuwait is now using its new A330-800s on some services into LHR, but today’s is approaching in fog, so will prevent viewing. I am currently stuck on 994 A330s, so missing both of Kuwait’s to date is frustrating as most of the others I need are in the far east.

8 Apaches went up the M3 eastbound this morning, presumably returning to Wattisham after the exercise on Salisbury plain. For those that might have seen them they were (approx times passing Basingstoke)-
ZJ227 & ZJ181 Panther 1 & 2 10.18 ZJ196 & ZJ192 Inspire 1 & 2 10.36 ZJ233 & ZJ216 Radical 1 & 2 10.45 ZJ209 & ZJ204 Cringe 1 & 2 10.55
Update With thanks to Tarnish for reminding me that it was actually the last day of Apache operations at Middle Wallop and that after a formation farewell fly-by they were actually leaving for their new base rather than as a part of the exercise.

Got a little surprise whilst waiting for various visiting aircraft to arrive at Shawbury yesterday (9th). A Hunter flew across the airfield at low level. By the time I got outside all I saw was a view of it disappearing very fast. The other lad working with me was impressed I recognised it. it was showing as XE688 on the tracking sites. This was a Hunter F.4 that crashed in 1957 and scrapped at Kemble in 1961. The serial is now carried on the T.72 (ex PP-XHH) that flies from Scampton and is based on the centre section that was used in the conversion of XE704 that was sold to Chile and then to Embraer as PP-XHH. Not much else of note. Nothing that turned up at work was any good.
