Hi Adrian, I can sympathise totally with your predicament . I was feeling rough on the 21st and could only manage to get a test (localy) on the 23rd, my test came back positive yesterday evening, now isolating until the new year. I hope you get over this horrible virus soon and wish you a speedy recovery... I too am a key worker but it didn't seem to cut much ice with the local authorities, as they suggested a trip to Gosport ( tier 4, from Isle of Wight tier 1 ) Take care and regards Chris Hi Chris, Fingers crossed mate, I’m sure you’ll make a full & speedy recovery. Meanwhile, hope you’re fit enough not to let these blue skies go to waste. All the very best mate. Bill Hi Bill. Sadly the blue skies were painfully watched drifting by from the sick bed, there will be more I'm sure... Stay safe Chris

G-POLH has been orbiting the western side of Aldershot for about the last hour or so. The second aircraft to be noted this month after G-DMBO on 2nd. Shame that I didn't bag G-POLH. The last time I actually bagged an aircraft was G-ETPI on November 19th!! I hope everyone is having as good a Christmas as possible under current circumstances and those feeling unwell (whether or not covid) are soon well again and let's hope that 2021 turns out to be a whole lot better than 2020 for everybody.

Afternoon All !!
I have finally returned home this afternoon after a prolonged visit to Culdrose, many thanks to all for their kind comments !
Still not feeling a 100 %, but the doctors advised that this may take a week or two yet, and just to take conventional cold remedies in the meantime
One fact that was explained to me, which I did not know, is that if you caught Covid during the first wave (ie before it mutated), then their is still the possibility of becoming ill again from the new strain
Still, hopefully over now, just rest for a further fortnight...
Happy New Year Everybody
Cheers
Adrian

Two in the book for yesterday:

Brings my total for 2020 to 1,337 pots/frames,not bad considering that I normally get overseas for 3/4 times a year which includes at least one long haul trip, just one trip in 2020 and that was in January for the WEF @ Davos where I made about 150 in four days in Zurich.
Happy New Year everyone.

Morning Guys,
Well 2021 has finally arrived!!
Its a great pity that 2020 has been such a tough year for us all. Lost six friends, only one due to COVID, over the past 12 months which saddened me greatly. Was only able to get to one funeral... I won’t miss it but I sincerely hope that 2021 will be a much better one, albeit a continuing difficult one, for the immediate future.
Anyhow, my numbers for 2020 were;
December: 107 frames and 64 scrapes. YTD 2020: 1,444 frames and 659 scrapes.
Been spotting since 1966 (logs go back that far, but was taken to Air Show’s prior to that but no longer have the logs...) so my grand total numbers are; 68,873 frames and 9,821 scrapes.
Hopefully I’ll finally get to the 70,000 mark sometime in 2021....
Happy New Year everyone. Fingers crossed it will be a much happier one for all of us.
Bill

Welcome back Adrian, great to hear that you are well on the mend. The final day of 2020 saw a big fat zilch go into the book but given the year we've all endured, no airshows, few visits to fields, museums and the like, then thank goodness we all have a hobby we can still enjoy from home, subject to clear skies of course.
I fell just short of Bill's total above with...
1,342 frames 352 scrapes
With shows included, and visits to fields I usually manage to clear 2,000 frames so all in all, not too disappointed about the downturn in such a trying year. Then of course, there's the usual Greek trip which in a good year can put another 150 or so onto the score sheet.
Best of luck for 2021 guys, let's hope for clear skies, an end to this nasty virus and then the ability to enjoy our great hobby at its best.

Morning All,
Many thanks again to all for your kind words,
unfortunately Bill, the ward I was on overlooked a football pitch, but I did hear several Merlin's move during my stay. I was driven home yesterday, and to get from the hospital to the main gate entails driving past all the hangars, all of which were firmly shut !!
Oh well, just glad to be home
Cheers
Adrian

December goes out with a bit of a spotting whimper, but with more perspective on what's important.
Best wishes to all for 2021, and speedy recovery to those unwell with or without Covid. To be honest it's becoming such a drag now, but I'm mostly trying to avoid me and the Mrs being contributors to the daily deaths column whilst the vaccine makes it's way down to my age group. Might get it for my 63rd birthday in April if I'm lucky., maybe it's a good year to be older for once!
Happy New Year folks.
