Lots of blue about Friday- but not a lot flying through same, but two hit the books one before work and one in the afternoon. G-OASL- ATR 72 ASL (UK) inbound EMA N19986- 787-9 United westbound and trailing. Could have doubled that total, but two TBM's flying very high through the haze were too hard to spot. As I type this Saturday morning, the start of 10 days off work- it's raining- Great But at least the coffee taste's good. Happy Days Bob

Quite obviously, Melksham International was not graced by the sight of any "HL" F-35s today, so I had to put up with a "local"

Yesterday started with C525 D-CGER into Biggin, and finished with A330 EI-HEB into Heathrow. in between, the afternoon produced:
VP-CBJ A321 on re-delivery flying at 23,000 ft , clearly showing those orange engine cowlings. Why so far so low? EI-GRM DA42 crossing with the above in the Croydon area, but at 12,000 ft. Newly registered. G-HCNX EC55, spotted whilst watching for ZK555 Chinook as it turned over the Isle of Dogs. N939FD B757 trailing SE over SW London.

With the weather forecast looking really poor yesterday I didn't have many hopes of making anything but with large gaps of blue being driven along by the wind I managed to log the following,if the weather hadn't been so bad I would have been well into double figures:
TC-NKA Gulfstream G450 (inbound Farnborough) OE-IGA Challenger 650 (inbound Farnborough) F-HTYG A350 Air France (CDG-ATL) A7-ANQ A350-1000 Qatar (DOH-JFK) 9H-AMH A320 Avion Express Malta (QLA-VNO) D-CGER Cessna 525B Citationjet 3 (inbound Biggin Hill) EC-MKI A330 Iberia (LHR-MAD,my last one)

Just been away for a three night mini break in Cricceth North Wales- Left Sunday and before we left added ABX 767 N371CM to the total heading west with a nice trail. Then headed down the A55 via Llandudno, Conwy and Caernarfon- and as we did the weather started getting bad, with strong winds and rain, but we made a detour to the airfield which not surprisingly was all locked up- so headed to our accommodation for the next three nights and whilst unloading the car needed MBB-BK117 G-WROL went right OTT heading back to it's base at Caernarfon. On Monday- went to Portmerion and after an hour and a bit there with the weather getting worse, we decided to have a drive down to Harlech and Barmouth and did another detour to Llanbedr a new airfield for me, but again with a nil return- no sign of the based Jindervik which I needed. So we then made the journey back to our accommodation and had a chippy tea and a few beers. We then saw the weather forecast and saw that today Tuesday our last day was going to be the same, and Wednesday was going to be worse still, when we would be making our way home- so we cut our loses and drove home today. Hi Bob
Had a 4 night break in Somerset last week, weather was not brilliant but I did manage to make 8 new aircraft from the caravan Tuesday to Friday. On the way home stopped at services near Boscombe and 3 hit the book inbound to the airfield including a RJ70 which i thought i had as a frame. Called in at Popham where 1 went in the book so for what was not a spotting break not too bad.

Martin You did ok then Martin- you can't beat Somerset as in the main it is warm, but as well as the wind, the heavy rain and being overcast it was cold- but could have been worse -could have seen absolutely nothing. The aircraft from Valley were up and about but flying above the clouds. Sod's law- get up this morning (Wednesday) and make my coffee and looking out of the window it'a wall to wall blue skies. Just need something to go OTT now. Happy Days Bob
