Conkers, the kids go back to school just as Covid rates are falling again and we hope for some last ditch sunshine before autumn sets in. We were so fortunate last year, most of which was spent in various lockdowns, that we had a top notch summer. Not so this year, the occasional decent day, a week in July when it was so hot that you didn't know what to do to stay cool and here in Wiltshire, nothing but solid cloud for the best part of the last two weeks.
This time last year we were all saying, "roll on 2021" and hoping for foreign holidays and a full season of airshows. So, we can all try again and say, "roll on 2022" and keep everything crossed....

Yet to get off the mark for September but did pot 176 frames/scrapes for August which was certainly helped by a successful turnout for the Microlight Trade Fair @ Popham and two decent gliding championships @ Lasham & Aston Down giving me a running total for 2021 of 859.
Should be a good turnout @ Sywell this coming weekend and looking at the stuff booked in,I could make quite a few as long as it all turns up.

As mentioned in my last post of August made 97 cops for the month taking me to 600 for the year which was 110 up on Jan-Aug 2020 so well pleased with the total so far - anyway a bit of work at home after work on Wednesday and during which time two hit the books one local and one OTT when a bit of rare blue sky arrived in the late afternoon.:- G-RIDC- Bell 429 Globeranger National Grid operating in the area. G-MRFX- Legacy 500 westbound to DUB? Looking forward to the Rally and as Dave says- quite a few on the list which if they all turn up will boost the numbers again. Happy Days Bob

Well Thursday arrived and after work started my 10 day break- should have been going to Austria with my beloved and our friends on Saturday, but Covid put paid to that - but on a brighter note- that cancelled holiday has allowed me to get to Sywell on Saturday- so the world is still a better place. Two more hit the books Thursday and could have been more if I had kept my eye of my computer instead of looking at an old TAHS Mil Aircraft of Europe book I had in my wardrobe- but whilst checking the Jet Provosts in the RAF section against my Mil Aircraft Marking and my Mil Spreadsheet I found 25 more JP's that I had seen and which were not in the same books, and other data. The two seen:- D-CJJK- C560XLS east out of DUB N455FX- G450 Eastbound Cloudy outside today- but it is looking good for Sywell on Saturday- so hopefully a good day. Happy Days Bob

A good frame for me today, N30WR Gulf 3. A couple of weeks ago I tracked this Gulf over the Atlantic looking UK bound , just before hitting Lands End it swung right and headed off to Milan (MXP).
Today mid morning I saw it on FR24 heading up through France ex Florence (FLR) again UK bound at 41k. It crossed the French coast and swung left heading towards Shannon for refuelling. A lovely sight over Mid Sussex
with a good trail and I must say quite noisy.
Also logged today - N100XS, N600J Gulf 550's, M-ANGO, N293JG, P4-HBK Global's, N352UP B767F (CDG-STN), N628UP B747-8F (SDF-CGN), and another oldish biz D-CTWO Learjet 35 inbound Gatwick from Cologne.

Afternoon Chaps,
Amazing how some blue sky can get you right back in the groove. Having had a great day out at Sywell last Saturday (113 frames and 11 scrapes) I was hopeful that our September Indian Summer might keep the momentum going, and it did just that.

After the weekend at Sywell then home- Monday was a nil return- and on Tuesday before we set off for a short break in North Yorkshire staying at the Gisborough Hall Hotel for my beloved's birthday I managed two more to swell the numbers:- G-EODS- A330F Titan southbound 9H-VIE- Global 7500 westbound The break was a non-spotting break- so nothing was seen, or any airfields visited- the only thing seen was an KC135 OTT 62-3502 which was not needed. Back home now to overcast skies. Bob

00-3004 McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle, USAF (anyone able to confirm if this is a valid tie up with GINIS51 AE1790 on the day?)
Hi Deke,
Info per ADS-B history and FC.
If you saw it between 08.30 and 09.40, then GINIS51 was 00-3004 which agrees with your stated hex. However, it went up the East Coast to the D323 complex.
However, GINIS51 made a second outing (10.57 to 12.22) which did go your way. This time, it was 91-0321 according to FC. I think that ADS-B got a bit confused by the 2nd sortie with the same callsign and continued the record from the 1st time.
globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=ae1790&lat=52.538&lon=-2.130&zoom=7.0&showTrace=2021-09-08 - and click on the "Legs" buttons (LH panel) to see. If you click on the "K" button, you will get the times.
