Maccies breakfast followed by several hours of shopping with my beloved in Manchester where it has thrown it down all day- but prior to this fun day went up to my viewing area in Runcorn which overlooks LPL Airport to see the Nordwind A330 VP-BUA which landed in the early hours from St Petersburg. Not sure what it was in for but the local website reckons it was PPE related, and apparently social media are saying that about 11 flights are due during December. I think it left at about 11:40am. Still a nice surprise on a otherwise miserable day weather wise. Happy Days Bob

Quick update at the end of another working week albeit a very slow one aircraft wise due to overcast skies and a bit of aqua, albeit Friday improved for a couple of hours weather wise, but as I type this - the gloomy skies have returned. Well the working week finished yesterday Thursday- at the end of a bit of a grim one weather wise, a bit overcast most of the week also a runway change at LPL did not help but like last week it improved for a few hours today (Friday) So it's the start of Eleven days off work to recharge the batteries. Despite the weather a further seven (7) have hit the books:- Monday:- Nil Tuesday- 9H-LOS- A320 Lauda (Europe) Wednesday- Nil Thursday- VQ-BJA- 777 Nordwind with PPE at LPL HA-LZF- A321N Wizz Air inbound LPL Friday- EI-HGP- 737-8M Ryanair DUB-STN G-TUMK- 737-8Max Tui on climb out of MAN HZ-AK27- 777 Saudi westbound C-GOJC- A321N Air Transat on climb out of MAN So all that is left to say is I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and hopefully a happier New Year when with a bit of luck we can see the back of this virus-although I think like Flu, we may have to live with it for a long time with plenty of booster jabs. Due to retire next year, but the longer this virus does go on may lead me to have a re-think. Keep the Faith, look after yourselves, your nearest and dearest and also enjoy the hobby, Happy Days Bob

Well, what a Festive time we've had so far in the Brown household. Having avoided this bloody virus for almost two years, the good lady woke up on the 23rd with a throat that sounded like she'd been gargling with Domestos, a home lateral flow test indicated that she'd caught the bug, ordered a PCR test online which arrived on Christmas Eve, this was collected by courier at 2pm and by 7am on Christmas morning her mobile had pinged to say, "Merry Christmas, you have Covid". So, booked a PCR for me, had to drive to Wroughton on Boxing Day to do the test, my phone pinged at 8am this morning to say, "Merry Christmas, you DON'T have covid" which the missus found both uplifting and disappointing.... So, she has to isolate till the day before we both go back to work, I can at least do shopping, walk the dogs, etc as long as I do a home test every day for a week. Just shows how random this bug is, one catches it, the other doesn't. But a massive "thank you" to all the NHS and volunteers who have given up their Christmas to help the public, hugely appreciated.

That's a bummer Graham, I have to test myself for work every Sunday, and I also do a test each Thursday before my wife has treatment in hospital. This week because we went to the brother in laws for Christmas day- tested Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and a further one today Monday- all thankfully negative. The problem you have even though you will of had all the jabs which I have had,you can still get it. Albeit the conspiracy theory brigade don't help, especially by not having the jabs. I wear my mask in work for the whole shift, as well as when I go into the shops. Have not been into a pub since last June, and since the wife has not been well, have not been to the football. Hopefully one day we will get back to some normality, or just have to live with it, like we do the flu. Anyway enough about my trials and tribulations, I hope your Missus get better soon. Onward and Upwards Bob
