Four frames and three scrapes yesterday, so pleased with that. Rather like Dave's weather comment, today's forecast was for wall-to-wall sunshine; we got up at 7.30am, and it was just that, but in the last half hour it's clouded in and the temperature must have dropped by five degrees.

Well, yesterday started off very hot, 25c by 10am and it just kept getting warmer. Then, a rather grassy smell hit the house, and the rest of Devizes, from the south where it appears that live firing on the Salisbury Plain ranges had caused a substantial grass fire which burned throughout the day and judging by the whiff at 7am this morning, is still burning. The ranges are about five miles south of home and the smoke blowing in on the southerly winds so looks like we're in for a smelly day although the Ministry has ceased firing until such a time that the fire is out and they're ready to cause another one.
The poor old spaniels were very uncomfortable, so used an old trick and placed a damp tea towel over their backs which kept them cool.
Made five frames though so no complaints

Same here Dave, they have a blue cool mat, about 4ft x 3ft which I put in the freezer for half an hour, they then lay on it and it really cools them down. 100% cloud cover here which seems to have kept the temperature down a bit and the wind has shifted which is a godsend as the house smelt like a bonfire earlier this morning.

We had a very brief sharp shower yesterday early PM Bob, all it did was hit the patio and back garden grass where it almost immediately evaporated and within ten minutes, you wouldn't have known that it had rained. This morning seems a bit cooler, but I bit the bullet yesterday and ordered a portable aircon unit. Looking at the expected temperatures for Sunday/Monday/Tuesday it will be money well spent.
Five frames yesterday..

It was overcast and rained most of the day Graham, but I was engaged the majority of the day taking Jan for a hospital appointment and doing a bit of shopping, but at around 19:00 the blue skies re-appeared but by that time I had lost any interest in spotting just watched TV. But I did manage a early visitor into LPL to keep the monthly daily cops record going and getting me into three figures for the month again:- CS-LTV- C680A Today Wednesday it is overcast but it is not raining which is a bonus. There is a bit of blue in the distance so fingers crossed. Happy Days Bob
