I won't be posting for the next week and a half. Off to Heathrow on Thursday fo rmy trip to Oshkosh. Farnborough Friday and then flying Sunday to Chicargo. Graham GTF4J2M Enjoy Oshkosh- very envious, can’t wait to go back. Can’t believe it’s been 8 years since my last visit! Must go back in the near future

I wonder what my Stateside trips have worked out at "per pot"? Having said that, the sheer number of pots made at places like Chicago Midway and O'Hare would bring the cost down a bit I'd reckon.

Spent the afternoon at a very quiet Farnborough airshow. Certainly down in numbers in the show and visitors, but as always there were a few of interest. And as a freebie, on the pounds-per-pot scale it was certainly a winner! A quick stop at Blackbushe then it was time to pick up my daughter from her school trip and off to the football at Brighton again. England winning probably means a trip to Sheffield next week- should be able to incorporate a few stops on that trip!

I had a work call in Stow-on-the-Wold and decided that instead of taking the A419 from Swindon To Cirencester then the A429 from there to Stow, nice if it's clear, a sod if you get stuck behind a slow mover, I'd take the back road from Swindon through Lechlade and Burford, a far more enjoyable ride through glorious Cotswold countryside and one which takes you right past the eastern end of Little Rissington. I knew that there were loads of aircraft stored there but didn't know whether any were active so pulled up in a layby and was delighted to see several Grobs availing themselves of the morning thermals of which four were needed.
With a couple of Diamonds flying through the zone, it turned into a very profitable 30 minutes' stop.

Reporting from Camp Covid, lord knows which sub variant got me but day 2 was the worst, days 3 - 4 lingering milder symptoms. However worse still, after having looked forward to it for weeks, we had to miss our son's graduation ceremony in Brighton. We tried to work out any ways of still going but a sense of responsibiliy won the day, and so we watched a live stream. That was OK but to not be able to then celebrate with him in person was hard all round. Covid 19, still disrupting lives in 2022. For perspective, we appreciate many have had to deal with much much worse, especailly earlier in the pandemic.
So, general Covid induced lethargy and weather being either too hot and hazy, or cool and cloudy (oh the British weather), means not much to show spotting wise. Hopefully day 5 will bring better results on both fronts, though promised thunderstorms may dictate otherwise.

I wish you well deke,at least you did get to see a live stream of the event.
Yesterday,a combination of babysitting grandaughter and only minimal patches of the blue stuff led to one being logged.

So sorry to hear that Deke, two and a quarter years down the line and this Covid isn't giving up without a fight. I've managed to avoid it so far ( he's says touching wood) but the good lady had it all over Christmas last year and although she had no symptoms and felt fine, she continued to test postive from Dec 24th until January 3rd and it totally ruined our Yuletide plans with regard to seeing family and friends, a few trips to the boozer, and so on.
Yesterday was my first blank day for longer than I can remember, today is 100% white cloud cover with a warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain until lunchtime but at least it'll help the farmers.

Deke, My nephew and his wife and son tested negative after a few days and are back in work- a good friend of ours has also tested positive, caught it off a girl in work- all she has is a head ache and will hopefully like yourself will be back on the road again soon. Went to Manchester yesterday to do a bit of shopping and whilst walking around the Arndale myself and Jan were almost the only people wearing masks. The footie starts again in two weeks and I am still having some doubts about going- but will have to bite the bullet eventually. I also noted that the Government have stopped putting how many infections they are getting on a daily basis just the amount of people who have recovered- the thing is people are not recording it now unless they end up in hospital and with 200,000 plus people at Glasto and the Horse Racing at Ascot it is no wonder there are a lot of people getting infected. Anyway back to planes :- 19th D-AFAA- CL604 southbound 20thEC-KVI- ATR72 Swift/Uep inbound LPL

One of our sales guys lives at Bury St Edmunds and is due a new car at some point next week. Now, the new car will be delivered to his home but the leasing company who own his current car will not collect it from anywhere except our HQ at Malvern. So, unless they change their mind about that, he will have to drive his old car to Malvern and I will then drive him back to Bury St Edmunds where his gleaming new motor will be waiting for him. An opportunity then possibly for Lakenheath/Mildenhall assuming of course that the Raptors are still there. Fingers crossed.

Still, any reason for a quick divert to Mildenhall and Lakenheath - on company mileage, all paid - can’t be all bad!!! I was lucky to have gone up on Thursday to see the second wave, plus whilst at Mildy was able to see the newly delivered AAC Apache’s (3) plus the visiting ‘OK’ E-3B… Great result. Best of luck, G. Two early pots line astern yesterday morning before the weather took a turn for the worse. None of the much needed rain but wall-to-wall clag until 5pm or so when there was a rumour ( which came to fruition) that the USS Kearsage which was anchored off Brest, was to despatch one or two Ospreys to Mildenhall. It/they tracked up over Exeter and Shepton Mallet and were on a collision course to overfly Devizes, until it/they turned NNE and missed me by 6 or 7 miles.
They were due back later, the sky had cleared and guess what? - they tracked Northampton/Bristol/Weston so way too far west for me.
