After Monday's feast,Tuesday was a washout and I thought that yesterday was going to be the same, however the weather improved around lunchtime and the following were noted.
G-SHRS B737 BAE (WRT-AKT) LX-PCI Pilatus PC24 N89RT Dassult Falcon 2000LX JA837A B787-9 All Nippon (HND-CDG) 9H-CXE B737 Corendon Europe (FMO-LPA) N985KM Challenger 300 N146EX Dassult Falcon 900EX
A family commitment stopped us from going to the Mad Stad last night so watched the game on Sky,we were rubbish.
This morning it's wall to wall cloud with a gentle breeze but at least it's dry.

A family commitment stopped us from going to the Mad Stad last night so watched the game on Sky,we were rubbish. Absolute rubbish last night! And the food outlet was an absolute disgrace last night too- I don't know if they had new people in but they were utterly clueless. 14 of them behind the counter and between them they were unable to correctly serve 2 of us at kick off time. My son wanted a hot dog - that was served with a burnt, rock-hard bun and a cold, raw sausage! And then, because it was kick off and they couldn't serve alcohol, all the pints that they had pre-poured, got tipped into buckets and then I watched as they poured them down a sink... Couldn't believe my eyes!! Oh well, off to Austria and Slovenia tomorrow although the weather isn't looking great out there!

Phil, your balloon photos are excellent mate - never done a balloon meet but I really must make the effort. Have fun in Austria and Slovenia - hope it’s a spotting trip with loads of photo’s. Safe trip mate. Bill

Thanks Bill
yes, a 4 day, mostly-spotting trip to see the World Hot Air Ballooning Championships, in Mursk Sobota, Slovenia, although the forecast isn't great! Will take in airfields and museums as time allows. We will also take advantage of being in Slovenia to go and stay in Bohinj tomorrow night, which is probably my favourite place in Europe! Tomorrow will be a quiet one spotting-wise - early BA flight to Vienna, then drive to Zeltweg for museum and see if any military are out. Then a drive over the Alps into Slovenia for a leisurely evening. Will hopefully pick up the pace after that!!
cheers

We have a good friend in Slovenia that we have visited several times and driven round much of the country. Now down in the SE of Slovenia in a small village near Trebnje but she used to have a cottage in Bohinj. Many a walk has been had around the lake there (the little POW cemetery hidden by the lake is a sad place though). No doubt you will enjoy the odd Kremsnita. Nice little field at Bled where we once went for a bimble around the snowy countryside in this 172. Nice little museum in Pivka if you get that way. 97-03 by dave tompkins, on Flickr

Thanks guys.
Yes will be going to Bled, Dave. Will be my fourth visit there (although fist visit to Slovenia for my friend) and the airport has changed over the years- much more a formal, business feel to it now although they still let you wander round. If I could afford to buy a holiday home in Bohinj, I definitely would!!
Pivka is also in our plans- haven’t been there before so looking forward to that!
Cheers

A quick check in from a rather hot and sunny Rhodes. Everything has been trailing since Wed which has made things so much easier. Lots of overflights means gaps being filled in Wizz, Egyptair, El Al and Emirates as well as Aegean and Sky Express A few Turkish about and a few biz. Although the famous "Flyers Bar" is still here, there's been no sign of the microlight that the owner gives joyrides to his customers in. We're back on Wed when I can see what's been made during our stay.

Half decent day and in between going to the Dr's to get my Flue Jab, and a Covid Booster thrown in I made the following Five:- LN-FGJ- 737-8 Flyr southbound TC-FHN- A320 Freebird inbound MAN N541LR- H125-1000A southbound T7-PAL- BBJ west to DUB N325PE- Challenger 300 inbound LPL Overcast this morning- Manchester back on 23 so nothing to see there- but a few dues into LPL sadly none of which are needed. So it's off to Goodison this afternoon for the early kick-off against West Ham. Happy Days Bob

A hasty decision to drop everything and head with one of my sons for a 6 day trip to Poland, taking in Gdansk, Warsaw, and Krakow. Not a spotting trip but as always keeping a watch on anything in the skies and phone radar apps. Unfortunately the weather was mostly dull throughout with low cloud, only a few breaks here and there. In fact we were unable to land at Gdansk as scheduled due to heavy fog and after two attempts, and go arounds, the pilot rightly abandoned the mission and diverted to Bydgoszcz. We arrived there in torrential rain but at least he could see the runway after breaking through the low cloud base. The rain persisted for the entire three hour wait for a coach transfer to Gdansk, there were two outbound flights all day showing on the board, and everything, apart from a vending machine, at the airport was closed. After that it was land based travel until flying out of Krakow back to MAN on Friday and a mad dash down the M6 to get to Villa Park in time for the game of the season!
The following hit the books:
Sat 10th
SP-RSU Boeing 737 – 8AS, Buzz (scrape of EI-FZC) our flight out of MAN
At Bydgoszcz
OY-YDP Embraer ERJ – 190AR, Nordic Aviation Capital (in Georgian Airways livery) TC-NCY Airbus A320 – 251N, Pegasus
There was a number of stored aircraft in various stages of scrapping, seen on arrival while taxiing, impossible to log though. The ones which someone may be able to help with are two ex Alitalia Embraer ERJs. I've tried some searches but not come up with anything. EDIT - I can see from Planespotters that there is a few of these at Bydgoszcz so it won't be possible to verify those I saw unfortunately.

Well Sunday was overcast and a bit windy so nothing went into the book- before I went to Goodison to see my beloved blues get off the mark with a nice win against West Ham. When I returned home it was still overcast and I was accepting that it was going to be a nil return, but then a bit of blue appeared and through the same was:- SE-RSM- E195 SAS Link eastbound out of DUB So ended up being a good day all in one's 1-0 for the blues and one in the book. Monday it is overcast with a bit of rain and one LPL inbound in the book. But I think today it will be the TV and the Queens Funeral. Bob

Everything trailing again today which makes life easier. I do have PlaneBase mobile on my phone, this tells me if the seen aircraft is a frame so I reckon I have made about 40 and at least as many scrapes. Most of Wizz's latest HA- LZ* batch have gone ott these past days.
A pair of fast jets were tearing it up over Pefkos earlier today, looked like Typhoons, Rafales or Gripens by the wing configuration.
We also saw at least seven helis including a Chinook at the old Maritsa airport when we climbed to the summit of Ialyssos Hil, nothing listed on PB or ADU so some detective work needed when we get back home.
