Hi all, yesterday was spent at Marwell zoo with the family, first time we have been there, and was very enjoyable, highlights for the kids were seeing a Penguin doing a fishy poo in the water right next to the glass viewing area and seeing a Giraffe having a wee ( have pic of Giraffe weeing if interested ). So nothing in the books.
Today was a glorious day with 15 hitting the books.

Out most of the day, but managed to make 2, C-GJDR BD.100 inbound Luton and A7-BFH 777F heading for Liege. Won't be able to make the balloon fiesta this weekend, went a few years ago when the weather was dreadful and there were just a few tethered inflations!

Morning Bob, lovely here too and hoping for a few in the book. Yes, I got rather excited about D-ABUS a couple of weeks ago then, like you, realised it was an old OO frame...;0(
Made eight yesterday.

Didn't do Bristol this morning, but my mate logged 106. Three launches in a row of 100+ - it's shaping up to be one of their best Fiestas, certainly of recent years.
Hoping it remains good for tonight- back for my third visit, this time with the family!
I'll list logs and photos in a few days

Morning Bob, back to the gloom here this morning. Warm, but 100% cloud cover. I can hear plenty going OTT but no chance of seeing anything. I know Bill said he's seen N822NW on the radar so I assume all three are floating around now.

I think these are the Heavy Weight 330s that Delta have ordered......Heavy weight as in additional upload of fuel and cargo/baggage. Im not sure if they are suited to specific routes due to this though

Morning Jeff. According to AFQR, the earlier batch from N801NW to N821NW are 323Es whereas the three new ones are 302's. Looks like 825 & 826 are on order too.

|
Post by Jeff on Aug 9, 2015 7:28:41 GMT
so are the 302s the heavy weights options ?....looks to me like they would be suited to the longer range sectors like NRT rather than shorter transatlantic hops.......although they could use them for the further European airports I suppose

Still clear here but can see cloud approaching from the west. Not one but two needed Turkish A330s on their way TC-JOK/L, hope they arrive before the cloud!
Just one yesterday, I-ADJQ EMB.190.

Both the Turkish beat the cloud, as did C-GKFT (scrape, ex Lufthansa). Apart from sister ship C-GKFD, don't see many DC-10s nowadays.

Clouded over for a while but cleared again, enabling me to make N824NW A330 on the DL85 CDG-ATL and EC-JYV CRJ.900 inbound LTN on the occasional ANE8404 from Vigo. Also made G-KLNW C.510 and N665JN Gulf 5.
Brand new Turkish A321 TC-JSU (c/n 6709) is currently in LHR, should get it on departure making 3 Turkish in a day!

Unusually,TC-JSU on the late TK1984 departure turned north (usually does a Dover departure which goes overhead) but at least saw the strobes. 7 for the day, best for a while.
