Lovely day again yesterday but had lots of jobs to do so my only "escape" was taking the dogs for a walk at 3pm for an hour and a half during which time these two went over. The Yak-50 G-YAKZ "red33" was a long way off and I only had my 18-200mm lens so not a great shot but what a great colour scheme and also made the Grob 109 G-ROBZ. Also during the day, did have time to see CL30 OE-HOO, Beech 76 G-BZNN and RV-7 EI-FEW IMG_3925 by Graham Brown, on Flickr IMG_3929 by Graham Brown, on Flickr

Amazingly, the one and only visible military aircraft for me today (so far) was one I needed - C-17A 94-0070 [AE07E4] of 167AS/167AW West Virginia ANG.
Visible with very short trail OTT Bristol at 15.32BST routing Marham > OTT Minehead > OTT Croyde.
Anybody at the Balloon Fiesta looking up at the time???

A day working up around Farnham and Basingstoke meant I had a bit of time to spare so got to Blackbushe very early, followed by ten minutes at Eelmoor Bridge at FAB, then on to Popham where I had the good fortune to bump into Bobby Street and Dave Allum. I did intend doing Old Sarum on the way home but the traffic into Salisbury on the A345 was insane so gave up, did a u-ey and came home. Still sorting out the logs and photos so will post tomorrow.

Actually made one this morning - though rather lucky to do so.
Missouri ANG C-130H 90-1798 [ADFE61], r/t callsign "RCH412" but showing "JESSE 98" in the box, out of Mildenhall routed down TR1 (Brize Norton > Yeovilton > LND) and I couldn't see it. It got as far as Taunton, had to shut down No. 1 engine and started squawking 7700.
It elected to return to Mildenhall and started dumping fuel - which was visible trailing out of its wingtips. It stopped dumping fuel as it passed over me at 11.17BST. I understand (from FC) that ATC told him to cease the dump until he was over East Anglia.

Made 46 myself at Popham on Saturday 76 in total with what I saw at MAN, LAP, FAB, OXF and BHX quite happy with that especially with the indifferent weather. Just planning the LAA Rally (Sywell) trip- which will be apart from a 11 day holiday in Cyprus my last planned aviation trip of 2016. Then it will be just football and of course the airways. But things can change!!!!!! Not a bad day today weather wise- possibility of rain later on- nothing of note seen as yet- may try and beat the rain and cut the lawn. Happy Days Bob
