Hi Bob,could it be Reading v Everton again tonight in the draw like it was last season? It was a bit of a struggle last night,I felt that Jaap Stam made too many changes but as you say we are through.
Absolute stonking weather here again today but alas nothing of interest passing over, never mind there is still time.

Absolute stonking weather here again today but alas nothing of interest passing over, never mind there is still time. If they are drawn out together again I hope the fixture is reversed with Reading coming up to Goodison and if you attend we will show you some real Everton hospitality. As predicted the weather is closing in- but I have managed to get the lawns done. Whilst doing the latter did manage my one of the day in the form of A400M ZM403 on the ILS at Speke c/s RRR405. Happy days Bob

A couple of interesting movements seen on Plane Plotter within the last few minutes. First, Turkish AF A400 "TUAF811" 14-0013 heading northeast towards East Anglia and then Canadian AF C-17 "CFC4051" 177702 passing west-east with long trail to my north, clearly seen

The Turkish A400M 14-0013 probably went into Mildenhall for a return stop-off from its US trip.
The Canforce has gone into Cologne/Bonn - which appears to be their European "hub" for transport flights.

August Bank Holiday weekend- three days off work- and the Creamfields Event is on for all the weekend at Daresbury near Runcorn and if past Creamfields events are anything to go by- a few Biz-jets should arrive at LPL. Hopefully the weather holds out for the punters attending the event. My weekend is an R & R one and a bit of soccer heading off to Goodison for the game re Stoke. Also a bit of shopping with the Missus when she gets home shortly. Third of the day D-AIUV A320 has just gone over trailing inbound DUB. Hope everyone has a nice Bank Holiday long weekend. Happy Days Bob Update:- D-ISUN CJ2 inbound LPL

Thanks Bob, hope you have a great weekend too. We don't have too much planned, but it is the opening weekend of Devizes carnival week so have live music on the Green on Sunday and no doubt there will be a trip or two to the pub.

Nice to see that the Bank Holiday has started with typical Bank Holiday weather, never mind,it was a cracking day yesterday with the following troubling the scorer:

Made three this morning in the shape of A319 LZ-AOA out of BRS, plus Fokker 100 OE-LVI heading west and B737 LN-RPJ heading southeast. Huge thunder and lightening storm here now, stair rods of rain and dark as night

One yesterday and one today, G-LCYW E.190 out of STN, and EC-JXZ CRJ.900 Air Nostrum inbound LTN on the regular Sunday IB8404 from Vigo.
Have booked a (non-spotting) holiday in Gran Canaria in February, looking at FR24 it appears inbounds to Las Palmas should pass our hotel in San Augustin before turning north for final approach so hope to clear up many Air Nostrum, Binter Canarias, CanaryFly etc which I missed on our holiday in Tenerife last year!
(edit) Just made another, A6-DDB 77F of Etihad heading for AMS, nice orange trail in the sunset.

After failing dismally to see "RCH637" 61-0314 at FL350 (not trailing) out of Mildenhall for MacDill AFB, Fl routing BZN > W of EXMOR (Minehead) - not that I need it anyway....
....11.37BST I made "IRL275" Irish Air Corps AW.139 275 OTT Melksham heading towards Devizes (Graham...), rumoured on FC as being for a short stop at Blackbushe.
As the other one says "Happy Days",

Missed Quid74 58-0051 that overflew at FL260, but did make B777s 9V-SWQ and D-ALFD, taking me up to 993 triples to date; I wonder which will be my thousandth? CS-DVS Phenom on approach to Biggin Hill made a pleasant change as it is not a Netjets machine. SP-NVM G280 on departure from Biggin also hit the book. Made 8 today, so happy with that.

To clarify things, rugbyref, despite the callsign that KC-135R is not one of the based ones at Mildenhall.
It is actually based at Tinker AFB, Ok and is on TDY at Mildenhall. It normally calls "NACHO81" or "NACHO82". It is my last Tinker-based one and it will have gone by the time I get up to Mildenhall a week on Friday.

That's really helpful, cheers Tarnish. Jeff has just suggested that we move your info here across to the military forum and set it as a stickie if that's OK?

Blue skies and long trails here. 4 frames made already, EI-FJD 738 Norwegian heading for BHX, HB-JBB CS.100 out of MAN, T7-MAB A319CJ heading for LBG (I think) and TC-LJJ 777. A couple of scrapes, YL-PSH 738 and YU-ARA A330 of Serbia heading for JFK (saw the frame with Jet).

Nothing troubling the book - as yet. Had "SVA003" A340 HZ-124 come up TR1 and over me at 10.49BST en route to Brize Norton - didn't need it though.
Off shortly to put two in the book - an Aussie C-17 at Brize Norton (A41-213) and, of course, the Big Ugly Fat Fella (60-0038).

Good trails today, so made 17 from the back garden (under the Biggin Hill stack.) Nothing spectacular, but C40 168980 was welcome, and picked up 3 more Norwegian 737s and a Ryanair (22 still to go though.) A7-BEJ and N859FD took my 777s up to a total of 995.

Bob we will have a trolley for our two dark blue chairs and goodies. Trolley is grey with a red London bus logo. I don't wear hats or very rare a coat. Probably wearing a lilac jumper if cool. We will look out for you. Les
